Tigers aren't getting Choo, okay already?

Ya that's true...ha - guess I got a bit excited after being PO'ed about the trade.

My roommate claims a few other sites are reporting the same thing...can't find these though.

By the way - I tried to edit the title and put a question mark on it as to not mislead anyone...but it wont change on the main page, only after clicking on the thread. Any mods want to fix this?

Thanks

Mitch I am all over the place...Just give me a yes or no answer please...

Is it no then..

Sorry Bob. Its some very fake shit. I sure hope this isn't our team for 2014.

Why would the Tigers now need Choo when they just landed SUPER-sub Lombardozzi to play OF/IF and perhaps platoon in LF???

The Tigers refuse to find a competent left fielder. It's been their MO since DD arrived. Look for Delmon Young to show up any minute

I was curious so I decided to look around baseball-reference/fangraphs to see just how good or bad the corner OFs (particularly LFs) have been in the DD era. I'll keep it limited to a few stats and total team stats at that position. Quite a trip down memory lane, for better or for worse.

Main players in parentheses, ordered by innings, highest to lowest (min 150 inn).

Left Field

2007: 80 wRC+, .305 wOBA, -0.9 UZR/150, -0.2 WAR (Monroe, Thames, Perez)

2008: 126 wRC+, .372 wOBA, -14.8 UZR/150, 3.5 WAR (Ordonez, Joyce)
2009: 94 wRC+, .328 wOBA, -1.6 UZR/150, 2.4 WAR (Ordonez, Thomas)

2013: 117 wRC+, .346 wOBA, -5.7 UZR/150, 2.5 WAR (Hunter)

The only standout seems to be Magglio's MVP-type year in 2007.

A lot of mediocre seasons with quite a few duds, both offensively and defensively...also take note of the carousel that is LF.

I'll take a Steve Kemp right now. He had a couple nice years in Detroit.
