Vmart with an rbi double. Miggy at 3rd and still no one out. Pinch run? Let's see if the pen can keep this lead.

3-1 on the JD single. It took extra innings but we scored more than 2 runs.

4-1 on the Collins single. This team is 46-25 when the score 3 runs or more.

STREAKS AND STATS:

In his last seven starts, Verlander has a 2.85 ERA with 42 strikeouts and seven walks in 47 1/3 innings. He has 29 strikeouts in his last four starts.

Ian Kinsler's RBI single in the fifth inning was his 19th hit in 13 games in August.
The Tigers have only scored 10 total runs in Verlander's last six starts.

Al Alburquerque has a 1.70 ERA and a 0.99 WHIP since May 1. He has 45 strikeouts to 17 walks in 42 1/3 innings during that span.

The Tigers are four games behind the Los Angeles Angels for the second AL wild card spot.

Jose Iglesias' infield hit in the 11th inning was his 23rd of the season, which ranks third in the American League (Graphic via Fox Sports Detroit).

JV may have turned a corner, not sure I saw him throw more than a few pitches down the middle. He was locating his pitches and seems to have learned to work the corners. Looked very good. For the first time in a couple years I think there's a chance he could still be an #1 pitcher.

Not sure I'll be able to keep it going....not that it matters. I start a new job on Monday. I had been working from home and briefly unemployed as of late. But now I'll be back to the daily grind and won't have as much time. So if you don't see a game thread 15 minutes before game time I probably won't be doing it.

Manchild, I want to thankyou big time for doing the whole season of Tigers games.

Just like the start of 2014 when I asked you and a few other regular posters if you could do them, and a week before this 2015 season started when I asked you and a few other posters, you took it upon yourself this year to do just about every game up to this point of the season.

For me, after doing the game threads for so many years from espn to before 2014, when my schedule changed, it was a relief that you were able to take over this year.

Best of luck and success with your new job. Hopefully it allows you to get into some of the game threads.

You guys who I sent a message to before the 1st game, if any of you can take over when MC's schedule changes with his new job, or if someone else can get the game thread going an hour before game time will be great for all who follow.
One thing I ask, once a game thread is posted, I am asking we don't have another 1 or 2 posted thereafter for the same game. If you see it's up, no sense to post another.
