Tigers @ Boston, Game 68, June 21st, 2022

Are you sure Meadows will hit? And it's just not about getting a name in Austin Meadows. He is only under team control for 2 more years.

Good article that kind of sums up how I feel about it.

https://blogs.fangraphs.com/rays-go...-meadows-to-tigers-for-future-considerations/

He's played 2 full seasons in the bigs and hit 33 and 27 HRs. I'll take that over anyone in this lineup going into this year not named Baez.

Like I said, I've been a Paredes fan, but he had several chances in the bigs and hadn't hit for anything and is a pretty bad defender. Hell even this year he hadn't hit for shit until his 3 homer game today.

Grossman called out on 1-2 pitch that wasn?t even close. Can?t wait till they get rid of bias home plate umpires. He has been called out a few times on bad pitches.

Seriously the tigers are cursed. Lost 5-4 out hit them 11-8.
The three run Homer killed us.
Beaz can?t make a catch a good ss should not sure any runs scored after he missed it.

Chafin first homer allowed since 2011.

Tigers are not getting close calls on balls and strikes . I have seen at least 3 or 4 called strikeout when the pitch isn?t even close.

With Tigers at Fenway, Greene keeps rolling.
Top rookie collects two more hits, makes leaping catch.

Red Sox 5 - Tigers 4: A late comeback wasn?t quite enough.
Trevor Story?s three-run home run was the deciding blow in the second game of the series in Boston.

Javier B?ez collects three hits, including home run, but Detroit Tigers lose 5-4 to Red Sox.
Freep

Although B?ez is hitting a sour .206 on the year, he has improved in his past six games, hitting .409 (9-for-22) with two homers, three RBIs, one walk and two strikeouts. His five homers, tied with Jeimer Candelario, and trails Schoop by one homer for the team lead.

WATERCOOLER WEDNESDAY.
Totally Tigers

Today, another opportunity for readers to discuss the hottest topics in a forum where thoughtful dialog and a variety of opinions are welcomed.

Let?s create some running conversational threads. And for those of you still going into offices, here?s a question to take with you ? or use via Zoom calls ? as you talk to your co-workers.

Here is today?s hot topic:

The Detroit Tigers have had a disappointing year so far and rank (through Monday?s games) as the 6th worst team in MLB.

In just a short couple of weeks, teams hoping to contend will be looking for their missing pieces via trades. The Tigers are widely assumed to be sellers once again this year.

The major baseball analysts have identified 10 Tigers who are expected to be on other teams? radar.

Some of them ? Tucker Barnhart, Michael Fulmer, Robbie Grossman, Austin Meadows, Wily Peralta and Michael Pineda ? will become free agents at the end of the year. Any team that signs them will have them only for a month or two and thus, their trade value will be diminished.

Jeimer Candelario, Andrew Chafin, Jonathan Schoop and Gregory Soto have also been rumored to be early targets by contending teams. They have contracts that go beyond this year and will bring in a better trade value.

It makes sense to trade away the 6 players who will be leaving the team in October anyway. But what about the others?

Should Candelario, Chafin, Schoop and Soto remain and be part of the team? Didn?t Al Avila say the rebuild was over?

Should the Tigers trade away controllable talent? Do they have viable replacements for 3B, 2B and their top 2 spots in the bullpen for the rest of this year? What about next year?

Is it a smart move to trade away talent or is this becoming an endless cycle of constant roster rebuilding?
Or could this be an opportunity to trade for talent to fill some holes?

Should the Detroit Tigers be open to trading talent expected to be part of their future?

1. Yes, at least a couple.

2. No, it's time to stop this endless rebuilding cycle.

well, he's on pace for 0 this year.

And I'd take Meadows over Baez. I can't stand that shit head.
