Tigers Hot Stove 2012

Basically all they received for Hanley from the Dodgers is basically salary relief given the fact the Marlins are not on the hook for any of Ramirez's salary. If they were to move him for a higher tier prospect they would have had to cover a nice portion of his salary. Its shocking really when you think of it.

Even given Hanley's down production this year he is still out producing Peralta and given his relationship with Cabrera I am very surprised DD did not make a play for him especially seeing basically what the Marlins asking price was.

That's what I'm sayin'! Especially after DD was talking trades with them. My guess is that DD doesn't like Hanley and/or thinks he'd be a bad influence on Miggy.

I am not using his friendship with Cabrera as a sole moving point just the fact that Hanley has shown he was unhappy over the last couple seasons and his production has shown that. Moving him back to SS and having him in a clubhouse w/ Cabrera whom is his best friend would of more then likely make a huge difference in his happiness and production.

Says you. Some times guys are stinking it up because well, they stink. He wasn't good last season before the IF change. And he's making a ton of cash and the Peralta gets pissed and suddenly you have distention.

He was also one of the best in the game the four years prior to that, Mitch. He's 28 and healthy. This is a mental issue, not something physical where he just can't play anymore.

I guess I just don't buy the mental aspect. Moot now anyway.

Not if he goes to LA and tears it up again.

Sports and life in general are highly mental and the mental part weighs differently on different people. Some act out and pout (Hanley, T.O., etc.), others breakdown (Greinke, D-Train, Salty, etc.), and others play through it and it surfaces off the field (Miggy, Rose, O.J., etc.). Understanding personalities and surroundings are part of what makes things work or go off the tracks a lot of times.

Having Hanley at SS would be horrible.

Our inf defense is bad enough.

#Tigers may be done dealing. If they make another move, it could be for RHH outfielder – think Reed Johnson or similar. #Cubs

Reed Johnson, 71 games, has his share of xtra base hits. So how in the hell can he only have 15 ribbies?

Where is the mental problem diagnosis coming from?

That's the easy explanation but does not mean it's correct.

Hanley would have been another weak hitting guy in our lineup with a very high salary, I'm sure that's why DD didn't offer on him, not because he doesn't like him, or because he thinks he'd be a bad influence, but because he's just not worth his salary, and is a downgrade to the SS position.

there was really no reason at all to even consider him.

Want to know bad trade. I was playing MLB: The Show 12 and The Tigers traded Turner for Jason Grille and Rod Barajas. Lol.

he's got an xbh to match each of his 15 RBI and has a 9/41 BB/K ratio this year with below-avg defense. im really hoping morosi was just dropping a name as an example, cause i dont really want johnson. we have plenty of shitty outfielders already.

Would you guys want Alfonso Soriano? Guy has been on fire lately and wouldn't cost that much.
