While I'm confident Detroit can take some pretty good wacks at Nova the 2nd time around in less than a week, I'm sad to say that I felt like last night was must win. I vote Yankees and hope I'm dead wrong.

Fister may pitch well enough to win @ Yanks, but it is the lack of hitting and when hitting the waay too many GIDPs being hit into, and IF defense that may do the team in. He will need to pitch 7 strong and give up no more than a couple runs, even IF the defense, esp the leftside performs well, and the "heart" of the Tigers' lineup MUST produce, IMO.

I am going with Fister. Thought for sure we'd beat Romo, er Burnett last night.

Love you too.

What do you mean who you got? I can't believe Tigers fan base has voted NY, ugh.

As in a prediction. I like to have an unbiased opinion even though I WANT and HOPE for the Tigers to crush the Yankees. I predicteda Burnett iwn yesterday but I was still on the edge of my couch hoping I'd be wrong.

We have the better pitcher. Screw the first Nova game. Bats will smoke 'em tonight.

Fister will come through, I think the bats will be able to get at least 4 against Nova. I picked Burnett last night because the Tigers have a knack for making scrubs look good. Nova is a better pitcher so they will get to him. Go Tigers.

I'm hoping for that. Nova doesnt necessarily have dominating stuff so seeing him twice in a week should prove to be a great advantage for Detroits hitter. On the other hand, I think the Yankees line up doesn't go down tonight without at least 4-5 runs. Should be a good one if Detroit hits.

The play of the game was Curtis's catch on Kelly. Burnett was dying out there and if that ball got over CG's head, it's a different game. If Detroit doesn't get an early lead on Thur, they prob lose. Fister better pretend it's still Sept!

Agree 100% with the bolded. Seems like a reach considering the amount the Yanks put up but I fully believe if that ball goes over his head Detroit wins that game. Burnett would have imploded, it would have gotten worse before it go better for them, the bull pen would have been stretched out and the Tigers would have been fired up.

I think it was Darling that said Kelly may have even scored. But it would have been 3-0 at least, Tigers. Burnett may not recover, he was a different pitcher when he came out for the 2nd inning, and Leyland's BP strategy changes. Whole different game.

Fister didn't pitch too bad in game 1. The end he messed up but he started well. I wonder if JV makes an appearence.

They will have to pull out all the stops. I can see Benoit going 3 innings. I'd go with Inge and Maggs even w/the RH pitcher. Leyland better rethink his lineup. He can't keep AJax and Santiago batting 1-2. And Avila better get his act together! The Tigers offense hasn't exploded yet. They better do it on Thurs. It's a shame they don't have Boesch.
