Miggy looks to Halos for No. 500.
Miguel Cabrera went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts on Sunday, and will remain at 499 home runs heading into Tuesday's series opener against the Angels at Comerica Park. Cabrera has hit 16 career home runs off Angels pitching, most recently on July 29, 2019, off Jaime Barria at Angel Stadium. He's 1-for-5 with an RBI single in his career against Tuesday's scheduled starter, Dylan Bundy.

Tigers hosting Angels for three-game series.
TIGERS WELCOME ANGELS TO COMERICA PARK FOR THREE: The Tigers continue their six-game homestand tonight as they begin a three-game series against the Angels. Detroit and Los Angeles (AL) played earlier this season with the Angels winning three-of-four games. The Tigers have not won a season series against the Angels since 2010.

HISTORY IN THE MAKING: Miguel Cabrera will look to make history in this week?s series against the Angels, currently sitting at 499 round-trippers in his career. Cabrera is looking to become the 28th player in MLB history to reach 500 home runs, while he would be the first player to reach the milestone in a Tigers uniform. Cabrera would also be the sixth player born outside the United States to hit 500 homers and the first Venezuelan-born player.

ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO AN END: Jeimer Candelario went 0x3 on Sunday, snapping his hitting streak at a career-best 10 games, over which he hit .351/.429/.730 with six doubles, a triple, two home runs and eight RBI. Despite the 0x3 performance on Sunday, Candelario has been one of the hottest hitters in the American League since the All-Star break. During that span, he is batting .327/.412/.596 with 12 doubles, two triples, four home runs and 20 RBI. Candelario is tied for the American League lead in doubles since July 16, while he is third in on-base percentage, fifth in OPS (1.008), sixth in slugging percentage and tied for seventh in hits (34).

DOUBLE DUTCH: Derek Holland turned in an impressive outing in relief on Sunday, throwing a season-high 3.0 shutout innings with four hits allowed and four strikeouts. Holland has allowed just two runs over his last nine outings, posting a 1-0 record with a 1.29 ERA (14.0IP/2ER) and 17 strikeouts.

According to radio his slider is not even close. Lucky he only gave up 1 run.

It just may be good news for Detroit Tiger fans. The experiment of moving Spencer Torkelson to third base appears to be coming to an end. He's been asked to play more first base in Toledo.

Multiple scouts point to Tork's inability to play third and bobbling of routine balls. Combine that with the Tigers' need to fill a first base hole in Detroit and the fine performance of Candelario at third, it's a logical decision.

What this could mean is that Torkelson, with his promotion, could be fast-tracked to Detroit next year. With his recent promotion to Toledo, he could see Comerica as soon as the beginning of next year.

Totally Tigers

Greiner unfortunately is catching, Haase scratched tonight with lower back tightness.

Mize with 73 pitches after 3 innings,

Come on that is just bad pitching. You know Jose is swinging at the first pitch. Buzz him. Stupid pitching.

Soto walks a freaking .186 hitter after getting way ahead of him. It?s just ridiculous how he makes these jams for himself.

Just freaking Dumb. Walks 2 shit batters and then gives up the damn game.

Well this series is toast now.
