Tigers vs. Angels August 19, 2021 Game 123 1:00 Start

Was Manning on a pitch count ? Because taking him out at 4 2/3 up big with two runners on I thought was strange. The dreaded pitch count.
I guess 96 is a lot at that point.

Not sure what some were expecting. We've been without 4 of our 5 opening day rotation pieces for most of the year and just played our 5th catcher this year and he was in another organization 2 days ago. Plus a constant revolving door of injuries to the position players and relievers. Being 7 games of .500 at this point is amazing.

Also, Rogers and Haase should split team mvp this year after seeing how bad these pitchers are without them

Miguel Cabrera is now 73-for-191 (.382) in his career with the bases loaded.
He sticks with the 6th best bases-loaded batting average ever (min 150 PA), but he moves into a tie for 6th with 20 bases-loaded doubles, and he now has exactly 200 RBI with the bases loaded.

Angels 13 - Tigers 10: The bullpen collapsed to blow an eight run lead.
This was the ugliest loss of the season to date as the Angels sweep the Tigers at home.

Totally Tigers

As the baseball season starts to wind down, let?s look back on the Tigers? year so far. There have been a lot of changes. A lot of improvement. A lot to observe.

So given this very different year, what has stood out? Our two bloggers take a look back and identify each their 5 most significant moments and/or achievements of the year.

In two sentences for each moment, what were their top observations?

What the fuck is going on here?? a 10 - 2 lead turns to shit 10 - 8.

I saw that Hinch was thrown out of the game.

Some of these guys in the bullpen should be in the minors.

Some of them aren't any good, but Hinch has over worked them as well

Tigers SRD Podcast: Swept up by an Angel. 73 minutes.

Rogelio is on vacation, so Chris is joined by Jake and Yooper to discuss the ugly Detroit Tigers homestand. The guys talk about the team missing their young sparkplugs, the scramble to field a full roster,
Miguel Cabrera's chase for 500 home runs,
and Jack Morris' stupid racist joke.

Then it's into discussion of the greatness of Shohei Ohtani,
the first revenue sharing proposal from MLB,
and the end of MLB's baseball card partnership with Topps.

Chris then goes on a deranged diatribe about intelligent design, the guys hit their Inside the Numbers and Good, Bad, and Ugly segments,
and they finish by answering a listener question about Beau Brieske.
