Tigers vs. angels Game Thread Sept. 8

It's like I'm reading an online version of the Mike Valenti show.

I am just sick of the whole "I am a real fan because I look at positives instead of negatives" You aren't better than anyone it's just how you choose to look at things. I choose to look at it as a shit fest and I respect your right to view it as a positive.

If the White Sox didn't exist we may not be.

Untrue.

We were 16-10 in July (Best in Central), 16-11 in August(second best in central .5 behind KC), and 3-3 so far in September (.5 game behind Cle).

Hey now, nobody said anyone was better then anyone else.

Some of us just choose not to give up when there is still a very good fighting chance.

I have heard it before and it is implied in responses (Like giving up) No one said giving up but I am not going to pretend what this is is ok with me. Do we have a chance? Yes. But I believe you need to show something more than this for me to feel there is.

Verlander done after six innings, nine hits, six earned runs. The 17 total bases allowed tied for fifth most in career.

Also ties the fewest (3) strikeouts recorded by Verlander in any start this season.

Game 138:

Knew we were in trouble as soon as I saw all those high career batting averages against JV in the CA lineup tonight. Begged hoped and pleaded for some offense for once, but that is just simply way too much to ask for with this under preforming feeble offense. Tigers now find themselves 2 full games back of Chicago with only 24 games to go. At this point with only 24 games to go, I can see no reasonable reason to believe the offense won’t continue to blow dead goats from here till game 162, Maybe the Lions can help us all forget this miserable lousy under achieving season. It’s all just a damn shame cuz for the most part the pitching was good enough to win it all this year IMO.

What more do they need to show? After 140 games they're in a pennant race. I cannot imagine if you were a Yankee fan right now with their collapse.

How about not losing 2 of 3 at home to the Indians? How about not ruining a great Scherzer start with a loss and then losing with Verlander the next day? How about not getting swept on the road by the Royals?

Thankfully, the Royals are 9-4 against the White Sox.

Wins and losses are all that counts, not the teams they come against.

We swept the White Sox, and 3 days later people were saying the season was over because we lost 3 to the Indians.

It just sucks seeing perfect chances to catch the white sox and build a little lead now go to waste and face going into Chicago down 2 games. It just makes things so much harder.

Did someone not tell the kid that you don't call Austin Jackson off a ball, he calls you off?
