Verlander to start Game 1, Andy Dirks and Quintin Berry named corner outfielders.
DETROIT -- About an hour after the Tigers revealed their ALDS roster, they threw out their lineup for Game 1 against Oakland.

And, there's no real surprise to it.

As expected, Quintin Berry and Andy Dirks get the outfield nods tonight, starting in left and right field, respectively. Berry will bat second and Dirks will hit sixth behind designated hitter Delmon Young.

The decision to start Berry with a right-hander on the mound was made easier after the Tigers left a struggling Brennan Boesch off the 25-man roster.
First pitch is set for 6:07 p.m. and the game will be televised on TBS.
Infielders Ramon Santiago and Danny Worth will be available off the bench, as will outfielders Avisail Garcia and Don Kelly. Gerald Laird will back up catcher Alex Avila, who is batting eighth tonight.
Justin Verlander, who had two playoff starts cut short by rain last year, will make the Game 1 start for the Tigers. Rain fell at Comerica Park intermittently Friday, but the forecast for Saturday appears clear.
The A's will counter with right-hander Jarrod Parker, who has been red-hot down the stretch, going 4-1 with a 2.63 ERA in September and October.

A year after being a journeyman minor-league free agent, Quintin Berry is batting in front of Miguel Cabrera in a playoff game. Pretty cool story.

It's cold and really windy here today. Game time temps should be in the 40's and probably feel colder because of the wind. When I was watching the forecast early this morning they said the wind should be blowing hard out to left field. That scares me a bit because we know JV can supply a lot of power with the speed of his pitches. If that wind direction is correct we could see some home runs tonight. We could also see the wind wreak havoc on the defense.

Damn Delmon at 5. His dumb "can't have 2 lefties in a row" theory.

At least the OF defense isn't complete shit like normal.

Inge got a cheer when he was introduced and he tipped his cap to the Tigers fans.
danawakiji

BIG ovation for Brandon Inge, when introduced along with the rest of the Oakland A's.
mattmowery

Brandon Inge greeted with a loud mix of cheers and boos during pregame intros at Comerica Park.

Inge greeted with mostly #%*&#@#&*# cringe from DSF Tigers board posters.

Tigers now being introduced.
Biggest cheers of the day for Tigers Cabrera, Triple Crown winner. Fan chanting MVP!!!!

If they clap for Inge they'd clap for anyone.

There are probably 10% that are clapping because they are happy he no longer wears our uniform and the other 90% are just idiots who say things like..."but he does charity work."

ThankGod I am able to listen to Dan and Jim, and none of the chooches on tbs.

Mickey Lolich headed out to throw out ceremonial first pitch. Scherzer will catch.

Tigers have lost 4 of their last 5 game one's in the playoffs...including 3 in a row. Last time we won a game 1 was against the A's in 2006.
