Tigers vs. athletics Game Thread August 29

Did they just say that Prince's short bat allows him to hit 30 home runs every season? He is going to have to pick it up this season for that.

one pitch, one out, and the pitch might not have been a strike. this team's shitty-ass plate approach is driving me insane.

Miguel Cabrera left today's game with discomfort in his abdomen and is listed as day-to-day.

Why is Torii not busting it out of the box on a chopper like that? He wasn't hustling, just like he wasn't earlier on the series on a ball that was mishandled that he could have possibly beat out.

That was probably the final straw in this game. The Tigers aren't going to suddenly pull it all together in the against the last two A's pitchers, and Veras hasn't really been lights out for a full inning very often.

If anyone ever says miggy is juicing, they haven't been paying attention. With 3 months of these nagging injuries, some juice surely would have helped.

You would think the A's would have a better feel or knowledge of Veras than any other pitcher on the Tigers staff since he came out of their division, but granted only for a half season.

Well, I was wrong about the second; please prove me wrong about the first point as well.....

Price almost grew a backbone and called out Pena (and the Tigers hitters) for not taking more pitches in a 2-0 count and trying to get on base.

A quick look at the A's schedule through July 29 shows that they were 11-1 against the Astros, with Veras taking a loss in one of those games, and not getting a save in the Astro's lone win, so they might not have seen much at all of Veras. If someone has better search abilities, they might be able to shed some more light on that.

Blah, blah, blah about not needing to dive while AJ comes up short by a few inches on one that he didn't dive for.

We have no shortage of guys who can play 3rd. Miggy, Kelly, Tooey, Ramon, Iggy, Omar.

Seems sad we were once forced to play Inge there all the time.
