Tigers vs. athletics Game Thread Sept. 18

Reddick looks like he belongs on the tv show Sons of Anarchy, not a baseball field.

Cabrera now has 25 home runs at home this season - most by a player in Detroit since Cecil Fielder hit 27 at home in 1991.

Miguel Cabrera is the 2nd player in Tigers history with 3 separate seasons of 125+ RBI, joining Hank Greenberg, who had 6 such seasons.

Once in a generation pure hitter.

Wow he gets to 2nd on a looper to center what's with all the lollygagging getting to that Omar and Johnny?

geez, The D doesn't stand for defense, D stands for dumb, wtf no one covering second.

Broken bat bloop ends up a double because BV does not help cover the empty base.

Rest of the season the Tigers should be out 2 hours early just working on basic fundamentals.

That was awesome, 3 guys staring at the ball on ground while the batter runs to 2nd base, that no one is covering.

Once in a generation pure hitter.

Kaline was interviewed by Dana Wakiji earlier today;

Kaline on Cabrera: He's the best hitter that's ever played in Detroit since I've been here, there's no question about that.

Kaline on Cabrera: That's including myself, and I don't even want to put myself in the same category with him. He's the best.

Kaline on Cabrera: He uses the whole field. He's got tremendous power to right field, which is very unusual for a right-handed hitter.

Kaline on Cabrera: For a big guy, and I mean this, he doesn't run really well and he still hits well over .300 every year.

Kaline on Cabrera: He's not going to beat out many base hits on the IF. He's just a tremendous hitter & he's a very smart hitter.

Kaline on Cabrera: I don't think he gets enough credit for being a smart hitter, knowing how the pitcher's going to attack him.

Miguel Cabrera's 3rd inning HR went 446 feet, his 9th HR of 440 or more feet this season, most in the majors.

The defense is what it is with Fielder and Cabrera on the infield. Getting better ss and 2b is the only upgeade possible with this setup/

Need to get Prince's bat going,.. He seems to be chasing lately
