Leyland says Al Alburquerque will not pitch in the Tigers - athletics series.
Will hold him out until the royals series for a hip ailment.

Tigers manager Jim Leyland says he has been wearing the same underwear during this 12-game winning streak.
Leyland: "I will wear these underwear until we lose. I can tell you that right now. And they will not be washed." lol.
Ramon Santiago says he's been growing out his hair since winning streak started. He sounds pretty set on growing it out into October.

I like the lineup. Can't believe I'm gonna say it but I wouldn't mind seeing mudhen in right over maggs with how hot his bat has been lately. I understand that Maggs needs to get some games in before the postseason if he is gonna produce at all though.

I can't think of anything that I've done the same over the last 12 games. But I'm pretty sure it has rained every day of the streak here in Tucson. (It is the end of monsoon season.) Rained again today..so good sign I guess.

Sox will be 3-11 in September. They're lucky they still have to play the Orioles 7 more times.

They have a lot of injuries but they will still be very dangerous in the playoffs. They have a lot of experience and if they make it in will be a wounded animal. Still, if we can get homefield advantage, I like our chances.
