E-Sock out at home

5-2 good guys

not a ton of hits but scratching out some runs. nice to hear the crowd make some noise

Schoop was always a solid player but this power surge I did not see coming.

Nice outing by Manning. Only 80 pitches and pulled before he could finish the 6th. What happened?

I don't think that's a concern. By anyone ever.

probably not.

so you don't have a real answer as to why they took him out.

80 pitches???

EDIT

looks like he gave up a hit, 2 outs then a walk. I would rather him get out of it himself than bring in a reliever.

I already did.. he's a rookie coming off a bad ml season. Its not unordinary.

He walked a guy to put runners on 1st and 2nd and Carpenter(lefty) was up. They went to Soto for the L/L matchup. He got a nice ovation when he came out. I like the kids mound presence. Looks like he belongs there.

Matt Manning brought his full arsenal into his outing Wednesday, mixing 15 sinkers, 12 change-ups and even a couple of curveballs with 51 four-seam fastballs. And he didn?t lack for conviction in any of them.

Detroit Tigers' Jonathan Schoop is having a great season so far on top of a solid shortened season last year. So why did the Tigers only sign him to a 1-year contract again? It's not like they have a decent prospect who will take over 2B next year.

It doesn't make sense to flip a player when you don't have anyone who can even begin to fill the 2b position. Couple that with no one who can adequately play SS and you've got a HUGE hole up the middle.

Not well thought out by the Tigers Front Office and about to get even worse. Currently with Schoop, the Tigers' DFS toggles between #29 and #30.
Imagine what will happen if Schoop leaves.

Totally Tigers

And he's probably someone who would sign a long term deal to know he's got a stable role for the next 3 years or so. It does appear Castro is limited to 2b only based on his limitations at SS so perhaps that's the issue but Castro's walk and strikeout rate are a big red flag.
