Tigers vs. Indians Game Thread - 7/24

Did Jim get out managed tonight... Yes or no..

I'll say no. 0-9 with runners in scoring position. Couldn't get that clutch hit after countinuing to get the leadoff runner on repeatedly. Somehow Ubaldo just has our number this year. Lucky bastard.

Tigers are 19-9 vs. CWS, KCR and MIN, and 1-6 vs. Cleveland 0-4 at Progressive Field.

No.

You can't hang a lack of hitting, poor pitching, and a couple bad defensive plays on the manager.

The only thing I would have done differently is have BV start inning 7, but that's hard to justify since I already know what happens when fister comes out that inning.

Tigers RISP: 0-9 (O Infante 0-1, P Fielder 0-2, A Avila 0-1, M Cabrera 0-3, J Peralta 0-1, Q Berry 0-1).

Can't really blame Leyland for this unless you think one of those players shouldn't have played. In which case I'd love to hear the argument.

Everything will be ok, sux are going to lose tonight and we'll get em tomorrow.

A maybe 3rd inning Berry could have bunted Jackson over to 3rd one out. Flyball score AJ from 3rd then. But early in game most do not want to play small ball then. But then again that's part of Berry's game and he is not hitting that good right now. Got to go with what he can do the best at this point which is use his speed and force a play.

You never want to purposely make an out in front of your best 2 hitters. Ever.

I just think with Berry struggling a Bunt may have been in order there.. I normally hate the sacrifice but Berry needs to feel good again and a nice sacrifice bunt would have moved the runner over to third... So they walk Miguel... Maybe Prince gets the sacrifice fly.. Who knows maybe he beats it out... Get the pieces moving and maybe something happens... I hate that the squeeze worked verses us... Damn that ball off the wall was botched pretty bad.... Just pissed they lost...

damn it... Dunn just tied the game, and are getting ready to take the lead...

Sac bunts early in the game are not my preference. If Berry sees something defensively and tries to bunt for a hit, that's a different thing. Jackson stole second, so there's three chances to get him home. A GB to the right side is as effective.
