If it comes to that, Tigers could put him on the 15-day disabled list, backdate the move eight days to his original injury last Wednesday, and then potentially just lose him for another week.

Yep but I'm just afraid it could be awhile. More than the Fister injury. Hurt ob-leak trying to bat? Impossible.

Let's lead off the lineup tonight with a rookie in his major league debut?

Alex hit a HR yesterday, let's give him a day off now. LOL..

He will catch JV tomorrow in the afternoon game. I'd rather have him handling JV than Larid, they work very good together.

I kind of like the rook leading off.

Big deal, in every other AB in the last 2 weeks he's sucked as bad as Raburn.

And he still has knee issues, nothing wrong with resting him.

Really the only other option is to juggle the lineup completely, and I think Berry was a lead-off hitter in Toledo also. Might as well see if he can do it before moving Dirks out of a productive spot.

That's true I just feel like giving smokes a hard time. And don't mess with Dirks, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Does Berry work counts or is he another free swinger?

If this combination comes up, they might as well skip the half inning.

If we can't score enough runs for Fister and JV to take the next two and end up 2 back going to Minn then boy i'll tell you what!

My guess...

They probably score 15 when JV is on the mound, then they won't be able to come up with 3 runs for the next handful of games.

Why do they keep bringing up Worth just to sit him on the bench. He's at a point in his career where he needs to play every day. Whether that be in Toledo or Detroit.

Leyland on WXYT pregame show; "wanted Avila to catch Verlander on Thursday, so rested him tonite".
Quintin Berry is the second player this season to start at leadoff in his big-league debut, the other being Xavier Avery last week with the Orioles.
He's the first Tigers hitter to bat leadoff in his big-league debut since Jackson in 2010 and the 16th Tiger to do so since 1918, a list that includes Ron LeFlore, Jake Wood, and Neil Berry.

RHP, probably want Santiago cause he is a switch hitter and can bat left.

Worth is probably only here for 3 games as an injury replacement or PH/PR.

Because he has unlimited options this year and they need a bench player.
