Jimenez vs. the Tigers in 2012: 24 innings pitched, 2-1, 3.67 ERA, 14 K, 13 BB.
Jimenez vs. everyone else: 140 innings pitched, 7-13, 5.53 ERA, 117 K, 71 BB.

Manager Jim Leyland will use the closest thing the Detroit Tigers have to an "everyday lineup" tonight as the Tigers try to salvage one victory in their three-game series against the Cleveland Indians.
Prince Fielder is back at first base and Delmon Young back in the fifth spot in the lineup as the designated hitter. Leyland started Fielder as the designated hitter for just the second time this season and did not have Young in the starting lineup Tuesday night.
Doug Fister (7-8, 3.67 ERA) will start for the Tigers. The Indians will counter with right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez (9-14, 5.61 ERA).
Fister has had success against the Indians in the past. He is 4-3 with a 2.33 ERA in 11 career starts against the Indians. In 2012, he is 1-1 with a 2.38 ERA in three starts vs. Cleveland.
Shin-Soo Choo his hitting .360 (9-for-25) with two home runs in his career against Fister.
Young is hitting .417 (10-for-24) with a home run in his career against Jimenez, who is 4-6 with a 5.26 ERA in 11 career starts against the Tigers.
The Tigers have suffered consecutive 3-2 losses to the Indians after sweeping the first-place Chicago White Sox over the weekend.

oh joy, boesch is in the lineup and hitting 6th again....

i dont love berry, but hit him 9th and he's a better ****ing option than boesch is. hell, might as well throw garcia in there too. it would be awfully hard for either of them to hurt us more than boesch does. even don ****ing kelly would be a better option at this point if only because he can play decent defense in the outfield...boesch is absolutely ****ing worthless.

Boesch is a california boy, maybe we can package/trade him and Porcello? to the padres for headley.

only if we drug their GM first lol. boesc has negative value at this point, theres no way anyone would trade for him. ive always liked the idea of trading porcello while he still has value though. im of the mind that we ruined him by bringing him up too early and not letting him develop his secondary and offspeed pitches and we need to get rid of him before the rest of baseball realizes that he'll never amount to anything unless someone can teach him some new pitches.

I keep having to remind myself only 1 out right now cuz it feels like 2. I take it Smokes didn't get my email. I asked for Laird to be getting all the starts while someone sorts out AA's bat. And as for BB, for some reason I just keep not wanting to give up on this guy. Having said that I do get a strong feeling he will be traded in the off season, hope we get something good in return. Needs: SS with some range, Catcher that can hit more consistently I think would be the highest proprieties on my list, others may disagree

now I know why it feels like 2 back instead of 1, cuz it's going to be later tonight damn.. Sox playing a day game and up 6-1 in the 7th.

those are definitely needs, but our 2 biggest needs by far are 2 new corner outfielders that are good offensively and can play at LEAST average defense. we only have 1 outfielder worth starting on a regular basis, all the rest either dont belong on the roster at all (young, boesch, kelly, raburn) or are 4th outfielders at best (Dirks, Berry). We need AT LEAST one corner OF...having to cobble together a platoon for the other would be more tolerable if we could get hold of one. I just have no idea who we could get at this point, cause its not gonna be Hamilton.

Another game against Ubaldo....and probably another game of punching a wall.

Yup he will k 2 and walk 7 and we will probably score 3 runs with our luck....

Why have the Tigers struggled against the Tribe this season? Jim Leyland shares his opinion on Tigers Live, 6:30 on FOXSportsDet.

He's been straight up awful this year.

Looking at his stats against the AL...

Season: 9-14, 5.61 ERA, 1.636 WHIP, 4.9 BB/9, 7.7 K/9
vs AL: 8-13, 6.10 ERA, 1.712 WHIP, 5.2 BB/9, 7.4 K/9
vs AL (excluding Detroit): 6-12, 6.61 ERA, 1.75 WHIP, 5.3 BB/9, 7.8 K/9
vs Detroit: 2-1, 3.75 ERA, 1.542 WHIP, 4.9 BB/9, 5.25 K/9 (Keep in mind, he got rocked last time out)

So he hasn't been spectacular against the Tigers this year, 2 good-great starts, 1 so-so start, and 1 awful start. But he certainly looks better (or the Tigers make him look better) than he does against the rest of the AL.

Here are his last 6 starts btw: http://www.baseball-reference.com/p...2012&share=1.43#170-176-sum:pitching_gamelogs

To the Tigers credit, he's been bad at Comerica in his career.

That's because he only has to get 3 guys out....the rest of the Tiger's line up will get themselves out!
