Tigers penultimate game of the regular season.
Tigers pitching staff is 20 strikeouts shy of tying franchise single season record set in 1968...Max Scherzer could put a dent in that number tonight.

DETROIT

Venezuelan media has arrived to cover Miguel Cabrera's run towards AL batting title. Many of them covered Magglio's crown in 2007, too.

On another note, we could be on the verge of seeing not one but TWO Wild Card tie-break games. It will be nice to watch one of those that we're not a part of and that DON'T involve the stupid White Sox or Twins...

Scherzer 1st inning,

fukudome strikes out swinging,

krapnis grounder past raburn single,

hotdogsantana strikes out swinging,

thome grounder Betemit playing near short with the shift flips to mudhen covering second,

Scherzer with 19 pitches.

Both the Rays and the Red Sux are leading 2-0, and 2-1 early.

Ajax leads off with a base hit

Young RBI single, after Willie moved AJax to second, Tigers lead 1-0!!

Miggy keeps up his torrid hitting pace, which I hope continues into and throughout the postseason, of course..

Twinks, who lost #99 yesterday, play vs @ Royals later, they could reach the infamous 100 loss mark tonight or in their final game of the season tomorrow...woof!!

heh!!

Maggs RBI singles, Tigers lead 3-0 already, another blowout in the offing tonight??

Tigers 1st inning,

Jackson grounder to short dives gets up throws off the bag to first single,

Betemit takes low strike, takes outside, fastball inside, fastball fouled back, hard grounder to first steps on first with jackson running to second slides in safe,

Young ground ball single up the middle and Jackson scores,

Tigers lead 1 - 0,

Cabrera fastball outside, slider lined down the third base line for a double Young to third,

Martinez takes a changeup strike, fastball fouled back, slider low, fastball way inside behind him and it hits Victor, f'n indians and f'n manny acta bases loaded, Scherzer should drill an indians batter, V-Mart here 2 Tigers hbp last night,

Avila fastball fouled back, again, fastball way high, outside, fastball fouled back, chases a high fastball,

Magglio singles up the middle for 2 runs,

Tigers lead 3 - 0,

Peralta strike call, fastball ground foul, sinker low, fastball outside, fly to center,

indians pitcher with 26 pitches,

Tigers lead 3 - 0.

Scherzer 2nd inning,

ultimategoonduncan strike call, swings and misses high fastball, slider in the dirt, swings and misses a changeup,

chisenhall golfs a slider to right and Magglio has it,

ffdonald slider strike call, swings and misses a slider, fastball outside, fastball low, fastball at the knees sit down,

Scherzer with 32 pitches,

Tigers lead 3 - 0.

Weaver not pitching again this year and he only needed 1 scoreless inning to win the ERA title. Interesting move.

Martin homered for the Yanx, cut the Rays lead to one run, 2-1 now with the Rays batting in the bottom of the 3rd.
