Since the mariners inaugural season in 1977, the Tigers have only swept them @ Seattle 5x...'77, '80, '92, '06, and now in '21. Never in a 4 game series, just 3. The '84 35-5 Tigers team were swept in 3 @ Seattle decisively, losing 7-3, 9-5, and 6-1....but the Tigers had swept the mariners in Detroit in 3 just 2 weeks earlier, May 14-16. The 2 teams played 2 3-game series on the road, and 2 3-game series @ home in '84....going 5 of 6 @ home, and 1 of 6 on the road.

I really don't care who closes. I think Fulmer is a better pitcher right now and Soto has better stuff. Soto needs to be brought along and developed a little more and he could be a stud closer. Fulmer can probably pitch anywhere in high leverage situations because of his demeanor.

Kinda bummed that kluber pitched a no-no so very close to Turnbull's as now sports websites, esp ESPN will be all over his nuts, cuz its a yankees special moment that will last longer in the news, than any other team's SP who has notched one this season. Plus its been over 20 years since the last yankees pitcher tossed one.
