Tigers vs. marlins 4-5-16 Game 1

That was why we sucked last year . Lead off man gets to second and we can't get him in with productive at bats.

Kc dId that shit to a ws title :(

There really no power after McCann in this lineup. That's what made the 2nd inning so great Gose and Verlander setting up the plate for Kinsler.

Justin Verlander is the first Tiger pitcher to record a hit on Opening Day since Mickey Lolich in 1971.

Jd just misses again, that was an interesting clown show route thier cf took on that turned him around a couple of times then he basket catches it Lol

Nick has to take the next step at the plate for the bottom of the order to be productive.

Nice sac fly rbi nick!!!!

awesome opening day thus far.

JV looks good. Definitely starting to deal with his drop in velocity much better

DET Today

RISP 1-10 with 1 SF

They should be up at least 7-0, if not more. The one hit was a 2-out HR by Kinsler.

by in large they are getting good swings today though.

the 4th was a little pathetic after Iglesias was on 2nd with no outs. About it. Even Castellanos strikeout in the first he at least worked the count.

Sharp, efficient performance from Tigers ace Justin Verlander through first five innings of team's season opener against the Miami Marlins. Has not surrendered a hit and has struck out four. He's at 67 pitches, with 100 the approximate cutoff point for him in his first start of season.

Pitch Counts

Verlander = 67 with no hits, no runs

Chen = 76 with 9 hits, 5 runs

DET has scored on Chen, but they really haven't him run his pitch count up.

Making it the distance doesn't seem likely but he's been great thus far. Very very encouraging.

His second half was overlooked by many. The record didn't show it but he was pretty good.

Former tiger Edwin Jackson. The Marlins are the 10th ML team he has now played for in his carrer

5-0 and some people still can't find something positive to post....

1st game of the year and you are starting that shit already.

I wish you two would just put each other on ignore and be done with it, it would save the rest of us a lot of headaches.
