Another down and in slider that wasn't a strike, f'n ump called it strike 3. Nick swung and missed a few of them tonight.

Justin Verlander: Struck out nine but he dealt with a pesky Mets team and paid the price in depth. Still, he limited New York to just four hits and two runs — a two-run homer by Kelly Johnson in the fourth.
Verlander? is now 27-4 in interleague play. He leads the American League in strikeouts and over his last seven starts has fanned 57 in 48 2/3 innings. The Tigers are 9-3 in his last 12 starts.
Victor and J.D. Martinez: Martinez and Company were back in business. The former smashed a two-run homer and walked, and J.D. knocked a wall-bounced double and an infield single.
Tigers’ bullpen: Shane Greene gave the Mets no mercy. Justin Wilson was unfair. The pair struck out three batters and Wilson needed just 12 pitches
Francisco Rodriguez: Allowed the third run of the night. Wasn’t particularly sharp.
Kinsler with 2 stolen bases, opposing baserunners have stolen a base on 47 of 52 attempts in Syndergaard's career, 32 of 36 in 2016.
With two hits, Kinsler now has 1,646 in his career, moving past Prince Fielder (1,645), who Tigers traded to acquire him in 2013.
The Mets have the best interleague record (.518) of any National League team since games began in 1996,
but the Tigers are significantly better at .546.
Since 2006, the Tigers are second in the majors at .620 (124-76).
