Justin Verlander has one shot at earning his 25th victory of the season.
Verlander (24-5, 2.29 ERA) will make his final start of the season today when he takes the mound against the Baltimore Orioles.
Verlander has earned the victory in each of his past 12 starts dating back to July 21. Minus Kelly at 3b...is this going to be our playoff line up???
and Santiago at 2b.

Sounds like they are gonna go with Santiago against righties and Mudhen against lefties.

might not be a bad idea with the way Raburn has been hitting, but I like the solid D that Santiago brings at 2b. maybe start Raburn against lefties like you said, and then have Santiago come in, in the late innings for a defensive move.

If it were up to me I'd let raburn play in right while he is hitting and start santiago everyday at 2b......Who knows though, can't complain as long as they win.

come on jv, we see that shit enough from scherzer and penny

JV is going to have to dominate the rest of the game if he hopes to keep his ERA below 2.30

Verlander 1st inning,

angle fastball outside, fastball on the corner ump says no, fastball strike call, fastball down the middle fly deep to right homerun, wtf,

f'n orioles,

hardy fastball high, fastball on the corner strike call, swings and misses a changeup, slider low, curve low full count, called strike three at the knees sit down shytbum,

malakamarkakis fastball low, changeup ground foul, fastball pop fly to left and Young has it,

vlad fastball on the corner strike call, fastball low, fastball on/off the corner, changeup reaches and drops a single to left,

wieters fastball outside, again, changeup tails back strike call, throw to first, fastball fouled back, ccurve outside full count, ground ball to Raburn,

Verlander with 23 pitches and a bit amped up with everything going on.

Last Tiger with 25 wins: Mickey Lolich 1971. IMO, this is the best season by a Tiger pitcher since McLain won 31.

JV a little amped up according to Rod. Can't say that I blame him going for #25 and all. Hopefully he will settle down and go 7/8

Wonder if Leyland has him on a short leash today for the postseason.

Wouldn't surprise me but I think you have to let him throw 100 plus pitches today unless he is getting bombed.

Unless he gets knocked around, I would doubt it.

He's Verlander...you let him decide when he's done.

two shitty ab's than a hard hit ball right at the their 3b, crap that was fast.
