Tigers vs. pirates Game Thread May 20

Well, no need to watch tomorrow guys, we all know the outcome.

Good win, very happy that we got Max a win on a day when he had the best stuff of his whole career. Big series coming up with the Indians.

Benoit up near 20 pitches, 2 and 2 to mclouth,
called strike 3 on the changeup,
Tigers win 4 - 3,
Scherzer wins it with a Spectacular Blue Eye Max 15 Strikeout Performance,
and the chronic complaining, including from yours truly, calm down for the next 24 hours.

watching the presser, its amazing how much and how long leyland cann talk without saying anything at all. he should have been a politician.

All 15 of his strikeouts were swinging, making him only the second pitcher to fan 15 or more batters, all swinging, since 1988.

Scherzer’s rate of 11.65 strikeouts per nine innings is tops in the majors and his 63 combined strikeouts is only five fewer than the league leader, Justin Verlander.

I seem to recall somebody in a thread saying that Max doesn't have a go-to out pitch. Lol. Still think that? You don't K 15 guys by accident...

You recall wrong, I said it....but about Porcello.

Max has always been a strikeout machine, when he can locate.

I agree, about Porcello.

And when we traded for Max, I thought he could eventually be a 200 k pitcher a season. Just has to show consistency. It was a hell of a game.
