Yankees come to Comerica June 1-3, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday... That mark will be broken that weekend.

Valverde still not available today...Benoit in the 9th?
I see Coke and Putzkonen warming up.

Scherzer's outing marks the 10th time since at least 1918 that a ML pitcher has struck out 15+ batters in 7-or-fewer innings.

Coke gets the k,
3 more outs,
Tigers lead 4 - 2.

Due up Dirks, Cabrera, Fielder.

I like our chances with Benoit closing today, his K rate is awesome and he wont face McCutchen.

Coke did his job, now I'd leave him out there for the 1st batter of the 9th inning, Jones, who is a left handed hitter. But, Leyland is stubborn as a mule so Benoit will get the whole 9th. I think Leyland could really do Valverde and whoever else is closing at times and put them out there for a 1 or 2 out save occasionally when matchups dictate.
