Tigers vs. rangers Game Thread June 26

Villarreal and Benoit unavailable.

Gotta love to see that.

Nothing better than wasting your two best RP in an 8-0 game so they are unavailable the next night.

Dumb shit Leyland uses JB in a 8-2 game... Nice work JB in a mop up role!!!!!!!!

Don Kelly could have pitched the last three innings and we win that game 95% of the time.

To waste your two best RP in a game you're up 8-0 is poor managing.

One of the worst bullpen decisions Leyland has made all year.

Im sure it also had something to do with the road trip they are facing. Gotta get your work in on schedule and get rested right.

JV pitched a CG the day before, everybody was fully rested.

There is no sense is wasting the limited innings of your best RP in a blowout.

Oh I agree with you totally M... In the top three for sure!!! I think bringing in the rookie at Cincinnati is up there as a top dumb bullpen move... Maybe leaving in Dotel to long in Seattle when we all knew he did not have it.. I am missing others as i have tried to have my mind wiped clear of the way he manages the bullpen... Plus I think it would be more like 99 % even with DK.... I bet there are not even 10 blown leads of 6 runs in the 9th inning in all of Tiger history... I may be wrong but i would bet on it..

The more I think of this stuff with Benoit and Villarreal out, and Below sits in the corner except for once a week it seems, the more pissed I get at the bad coaching/ mismanaging and these guys getting a wide berth because of 'all' their experience. Teams Recycle these guys, all the time.

Give us a manager and coaches that use all the data numbers/splits/saber available. Old school guys like the three amigos and their gut feelings, it's the 21st century, make one a bench coach, dump the rest soon, get creative, change the lineup and drop the likes of Young and Boesch way down, they don't like that, TS then produce, start hitting and stop hacking at shit outside or down at your ankles.

Man, what a pitching coach like Johnny Sain could do with some of these guys. We got wimpy jones.

In agree Kc... I can understand using BV lasts night, and JB for one batter in the 8th... But a really smart team roles the dice with the percentages, and lets Marte or another mop-up guy close the game up by 6 runs in the ninth.. Those leads hardly ever get blown in all of history no matter who pitches like mjsb2 says... Also i agree with you on the line-up... In the early season struggles before berry was brought up why not try JP in the two hole... His obp is steady at around .330+.... Better then BB that is for sure... use the damn data...
