Tigers - redsox Game Preview.
from blessyouboystigersblog

Detroit Tigers right-hander Max Scherzer has won four straight decisions.
He's looking to make it five tonight.
Scherzer, who is 5-1 with a 2.54 ERA over his last seven starts, takes the mound Monday night when the Tigers open a three-game series against the Red Sox in Boston.
Detroit hasn't found much success at Fenway Park, losing seven of eight against a Red Sox team that is seeking a three-game win streak since a five-game run in mid-June.
The Red Sox will run out right-hander Clay Buchholz, who gave up seven runs in four innings during his last start against the Tigers on April 8.
Tigers manager Jim Leyland penciled in his regular lineup with a right-hander on the mound, batting second baseman Omar Infante ninth and plugging Quintin Berry, who is hitting second, in left field.
Trailing the division-leading Chicago White Sox by 1 1/2 games, the Tigers enters the final series of a nine-game road trip having lost four of six.

No more lineup variables.
One of the most frequent (and misguided) complaints from fans about Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland are his ever-varying lineups, so much so that he — and everyone else involved, as well — gets tired of hearing about them.
There shouldn't be any complaints at the moment, as the Tigers' everyday lineup has stabilized since last week's trade, which brought second baseman Omar Infante over from the Miami Marlins. In the seven games since, including Monday's series opener at Boston, Leyland has varied his lineup just twice: on Thursday against the Indians, when Ramon Santiago started in place of Jhonny Peralta at shortstop, and Sunday, when the Tigers were facing lefty Brett Cecil.
Against the lefty, Quintin Berry sat in favor of Ryan Raburn, with Infante moving up to Berry's normal No. 2 spot, while Brennan Boesch dropped from sixth to eighth. Gerald Laird also spelled Alex Avila. Everything and everyone else has been static the whole week through.

Gotta love the two hitters with an OBP under .300 back to back in the middle of the lineup.

Peralta has good numbers vs. Buttholtz so maybe he can build off yesterdays game and get on a hot streak.

Ryan Field: "Just had a nice 10 minute interview with Tigers top prospect Nick Castellanos at Fenway Park. Off day for Erie. Great player, better kid".

Me: "Ryan, will you post a link later"?

Ryan Field: "KalineCountry, We'll have a snippet of my chat with Castellanos tonight during the game. You can see the rest of it tomorrow on Tigers LIVE".

It was exactly a 2 years ago that Peralta hit the 2 homeruns over the left field wall in that Tigers 6 - 5 win. maybe some deja vu all over again.

Since I changed/added to my profile, I have had responses to my tweets from Cabrera, Beck, Mowery, Dana Wakiji, Ryan, and a couple more of the media.
it was a surprise when Miguel answered one and then favorited a few more.

You are a rock star!!

I didn't think of that, might be.

Well a few of us have been in discussion/speculating who goes when Dirks comes off the DL, and I have to believe he gets re-instated tonight so that he's elidgable before the trade deadline tomorrow.
