The Tigers get Miguel Cabrera back into the lineup after he sat Wednesday with right ankle soreness, but Cameron Maybin remains out with the bruised left thumb. He swung the bat earlier today, Brad Ausmus said, but still felt discomfort. He remains day-to-day. Nick Castellanos took 25 swings with a fungo bat today, Ausmus said. Still a couple weeks away.
JaCoby Jones, who would?ve started at third base, moves to center field instead. Erick Aybar makes his second career start at third base.
The Royals have Wade Davis back in their bullpen, returned from the disabled list after spending the last month or so on the disabled list with a right flexor strain. However, Lorenzo Cain remains out with a left wrist injury.

I hate the f'n royals, maybe more than I hate the f'n indians, whitesox, or twins. I Don't have a good feeling about this 3 game series.

8 PM starts in kansas city, chishitcago, and minnesota suck too, kind of like the west coast 10:30/11PM starting times.

On the mlb extra innings package in Tigers' away games, we have the home teams announcers and I can't stand the royals announcer, twins have ff blyleven, and the indians have f'n rick manning, and the whitesox announcers suck too.

OK rant over, I found this in my saved folder from a couple of years ago.

Miggy with a line drive right through the box next to duffy's head and Kinsler scores,

Tigers lead 2 - 0,

What's up with Duffy's nose? Looks like a cotton ball stuck up one nostril.

Bloating up Duffy's pitch count nicely. Need to stay out of the DP.

With the RBI single in the 3rd inning, Miguel Cabrera now has 1,004 RBI, breaking a tie with Alan Trammell for 10th in Tigers history.
