From the BYB pregame comment thread today:

A?s must be laughing at the Tigers for giving Goodman 5 million. "No thanks. We?ll just put Seth Brown out there at the minimum and get our .340 on-base that way."

Humph....if you're gonna diss the Tigers' brass for signing other team's castoffs...then @ least get their names right and don't mashup two players in Goodrum and Grossman into one.

benintendi singles to shallow left.

annd....he gone.

Garcia in relief of Skubal top 6th

Uncorks a WP, runnner to second.

taylor grounds to second.

zimmer in relief of duffy, Tigers go down 1-2-3 bottom 6th.

Miggy just 1 K short of earning a golden sombrero.

It?s kind of funny. KC went 1-1 in the World Series in the past 10 years went really bad and have comeback and are better then the tigers already in just a few years. How many seasons is this clown Avila going to get ?

The downside to seriously limiting fans who can attend Detroit Tiger games (besides the obvious)? Filling the seats is no longer an impetus for the Tigers to move the rebuild along as fast as possible.
If you can only have a max of 8,000 fans for the foreseeable future, the pressure to rebuild faster is gone. The loss of revenue is going to continue to cut costs and not spend. Quite logical that the Tigers see this as another year in a holding pattern.
Unless an owner is obsessed with getting a ring, revenue is always going to be the driving force in the decisions made. And if you don't get the revenue, you're not going to make the moves necessary to visibly improve the team.

Tigers have struck out 13 times today and walked ZERO times.
Swung and missed 24X.
A terrible roster of hitters and ownership still allows the same people to procure the talent Tigers and Avila are the laughingstock of baseball.

Tigers lose 4-0, lose the home series, lose their 4th straight and fall to 7-15 on the season.

I blame Little I more because he won't spend money. He must be waiting until Miggy retires.

Royals 4 - Tigers 0: The losing skid continues.
Eighteen runs in a ten-game stretch isn?t going to result in too many wins, friends.

Who would want to go to see what pathetically passes for a ML offense flail away @ the dish, and strikeout much more often than not? If I was a Tigers pitcher, I would be hoping for being traded to a team which would have hitters providing run support.

Speaks volumes about what Chris I thinks of Detroit's sports fanbase when 2 of the 4's championship heydaze fall further and further behind in the rearview mirror, and trotting out annual rosters of mostly scrubs becomes our usual and customary "new normal"

Once Miggy retires, or becomes too injured to finish out his contract, I don't expect Chrissy to spend on pricey top-shelf FAs, or extend any in-house who somehow might blossom into coveted All-Star types, despite their piss-poor player/pitcher development and staffing. The best that we fans can hope for is likely one or two years of fielding a contender before arb-pieces are traded away or reach UFA status.

There wouldn't be any problem with running a mid-market sports franchise as if it is in a small market....EXCEPT for the fact that there already are an average of two per MLB division which have looong been doing so b/c they ARE small market franchises who must compete vs 2 or 3 large and/or mid-market franchises within their own divisions.

It would appear the 2021 tigers are not very good. And at miggy?s current declining state he?ll reach 3,000 hits in 2027
