I'm all for riding Verlander, but maybe not in April. I love that the guy hates to come out, but I'd prefer he goes to the well down the stretch, not in the first few games.

Even for JV, there's a limit. I hope he's as effective in inning 250 as he is now.

Sometime you have to show faith in a guy like Verlander. I think taking him out would've been more damaging to his confidence then the damage done to his arm leaving him in for a few more pitches.

You either start Valverde in the ninth or bring him in after the lead-off single...After that there is no way i am bringing him in with the bases loaded or runners on second and third....Jim was in no man's land at that point and had to stick with JV..

You guys worry to much. He's a work horse for a reason. He's never going to be on a pitch count. If he needs to go 120 on Saturday, he'll do it. Ryan threw 259 pitches in a game before. And he was a hard thrower as well.. I don't find it a big deal to get 131 after games of 104 and 105. Still less than his 116 average of 2011.

Sure it was but I brought up Ryan because he could hit 100 even when he retired at 40 something. Granted, I don't want jv going that much but there will always be games when he doesn't throw a whole lot so eventually it evens out even with a 130 game in there..
