Tigers vs. royals Game Thread July 8

Rodney hitting triple-digits vs. the Tribe. Atta-boy, crooked-cap...

Verlander is pitching third not because of rest but due to the divisional matchups this month. He will face Sale at home on the 20th of July. Leland stated this a week ago but it seems everybody missed the comments

Bad moved IMO. Rain or a scratch could mess that up. I just want and think it's best to pitch JV as much as possible. Give him 40 starts.

Last August and September this site was getting 500-1000 post per game, over 1000 on a couple. Have we lost people or because of a slow start?

Granted I haven't posted as much, a bit too much bitching for my taste but there is a big difference.

Last year Aug. and Sept. we were at Jessie's board.

Move here was early this year.

We might have lost some, with the second move, or due to the slow start this year.

I still look at is as Jessie's board. He started it, put in all the work and it's the same name basically.

The Tigers had nine strikeouts on the day, moving their total to 715, the most ever for any AL team before the All-Star break.

Tigers establish new first-half strikeout mark.
from the Tigers official site

Scherzer, the Tigers have two of the AL's top five pitchers in strikeouts and three of the top 30. Justin Verlander paces the league, having fanned 128 hitters. And 22-year-old rookie Drew Smyly's 10 K's on Friday against the Royals put him at 27th with 75.
The Tigers' bullpen unit ranks second in the AL with 262 strikeouts.
