After sitting out the past two games, Detroit Tigers outfielder Brennan Boesch is back in the lineup as the Detroit Tigers seek out their season-high fifth straight win.
Boesch is batting sixth behind Delmon Young, who is riding a three-game homer streak, in the final game of the club's three-game series against the visiting Kansas City Royals.
Quintin Berry is batting second for the straight day and playing in left field, while Ryan Raburn, who has started the team's last seven games, is available off the bench.
Max Scherzer takes the mound Sunday afternoon -- five days after his scheduled start had to be pushed back due to soreness in his left hamstring. He suffered the injury while running the day after winning in Tampa Bay on June 28.
Kansas City will counter with their third straight left-hander in Everett Teaford, who will try to help the struggling Royals avoid a sweep while building on his first win of the season.
