eh, it can be with good control and movement. jamie moyer wishes his fastball was 88 and hes still pitching effectively. wilk's problem is a lack of both movement and command right now, too much out over the plate.


tl;dr - 88 is fine if you dont suck. wilk just sucks.

Not just experience, Moyer has good stuff.

you can get by with an 86 mph fastball if your offspeed and breakign stuff is good, Wilks is not.
