Tigers vs Twins Game Thread July 5th

What sucks is Downs wont get a decision, he deserves the win more than anyone.

Nice comeback boys!!!! Well done everyone!!!! No one really gave up!!!!!

Four relievers combine for 5.1 shutout innings, as Tigers rally for 7-3 win, split series with Twins, move back to one game under .500

Great relief pitching from Downs today, hope it was just a 1 day setback for RP, yet another opportunity to get back to .500 tomorrow. If Max hadn't had to miss his start I think maybe we woulda took 3 of 4 here. that sucks.

Darin Downs, Octave Dotel and Jose Valverde faced 18 batters, allowed 3 hits and struck out 10.

Today's win marks the first time since at least 1918 that the Tigers have allowed 15+ hits and 3-or-fewer runs in a 9-inning game.

Rick Porcello faced 22 batters today and gave up 12 hits and a walk. He struck out no one.

What's the status on Porcello? Just read he got hit with a line drive and had to exit in the 4th.

Appears to have made the wrong move.

It sounds very much like Leyland is sticking with the idea of 'using this stretch' to see if Raburn can turn it around.
?I?m kind of playing the string out right now to see if Raburn?s going to do something,? Leyland said.
Jason Beck

This sounds like he's giving him up to or through the all-star break...at least to me.

Classic Leyland postgame rant ... ending with, "You can put that on Twitter, you can put it on eBay, whatever the hell you want ..."

I'm sure some of it will be on the post game webvideo at DetroitFox.

You guys in Michigan will probably have it on the sports segments of the 6 or 11 PM news.

Someone asked about Raburn and he raved about how good he played. Then they asked for him to follow up about the comment he made about getting Raburn going against lefties and he got pissed. Asked the guy where he heard the comment. The guy said someone put it on twitter and said "Well there you go, I don't follow twitter". Then went and explained how he made the comment about Raburn AND Peralta and Young. Then said "now you can put that on Twitter, Ebay..." not sure what he said after ebay cause I was laughing so hard. So basically it sounds like he was pissed cause someone misquoted him from before the game.

Hopefully someone can find the video of it, cause this was all off from watching it one time and laughing pretty hard during it. So I may have missed a few things.
