Tigers vs. Twins Game Thread May 27

Huge win, as sloppy as we played, Cabrera bailed us out. Hopefully we build on this and finish this trip strong in Boston.

Am I the only one who almost pukes up their soup whenever a ball heads for the outfield?

Morneau never should have batted in that last inning, he had Willingham K'd if these damn umps would do their job properly.

Only 1 HR in the entire series us for, but boy was a big one and come at a perfect time.

Cabrera is quietly having one of his best seasons, he's on pace for 138 RBIs right now.

Gotta be over 100 at bats since Cabrera's last homerun.

went to check, 1 home run in past 104 ab's before todays game.

I just had to rest for that 7th inning on, so I missed it.
Most of the Tigers have the app or DetroitSportsForum link for this game thread on their smartphones in the dugout, they pointed it out to Miguel. trust me on this......

So make that 2 homeruns in his last 109 at bats.
Thanks Miggy.

Cabrera is quietly having one of his best seasons, he's on pace for 138 RBIs right now.

Which speaks to how good he is. Most everyone here thinks he is underperforming so far this year. But only 3 guys in all of baseball have more rbi's than he does.

Tigers were 2 for 15 with risp, and 10 LOB.
3 GIDP.

Tigers are now 2-for-18 in pinch-hit appearances after Delmon k'd.

Quintin Berry had a day to remember: 3 for 4 with a BB, 2SB...made a great catch on a drive in bottom 8th to save a run, led off 9th w/ single.
Berry is a Minor League FA signed by Tigers in off-season after he'd been with 4 teams in 12 months from 2010-11. Had 18 AB above AA before this year.

Porcello started, went 6, gave up 3 Runs on 9 Hits...stayed in after getting hit hard on left leg on Mauer hard groundball in 3rd.

Fielder had a big series went 9 for 12 with 2BB, 3RBI, reached in 8 straight PA before Twins retired him in the 9th.

Get your brooms, on sale in the target field baseball store.

[UOTE=johnny2x2x;167066]I guess his OPS is lower than usual, but he'd set a career high is RBIs.

.312 138 RBIs 31 HRs is not a bad year even for Cabrera.[/QUOTE]

Triple. Crown. Stats.

He's got the 4th most ABs with runners on in the AL.

Yes, he's still got great numbers this year, but it is significantly less than the level he was at the last two seasons.

His 10yr, 162gm career average is .317 / 118 RBIs / 33 HRs. He's pretty good, huh?

Yeah, he's basically just a hair behind Pujols at this stage, Pujols has a career BA 9 points higher and hits a several more HRs per year. Cabrera is a lock for the HOF if he merely keeps playing for a hand full more years. We're spoiled as hell with him and I think he has really yet to get going this year. He's put up great numbers and I don't even feel he;s swung the bat as well as he usually does and think he's due to go on a 10 game tear where he just knocks the cover off the ball.

Prince all of the sudden has pretty good numbers for kind of being in a funk too.
