Valverde could have gotten to 2.3ish ERA but that ER bumped him up to 2.57.. Eww

Who gives a shit about his ERA though, the only stat that matters for his is the one where he just set a franchise record....Saves!

Last time they had an 8 game win streak in September: 1968

Detroit News said the '68 Tigers had an 11 game winning streak. whatever, just keep winning.
Best season record the Tigers have had against the suckass twins in their 50 years. Tigers finish them off winning 14 and losing just 4.
Tigers are now 43 and 21 against the AL Central which is outstanding.

Kaline,
This has been an unbelievable run. Everything is clicking right now. Leyland is pushing all the right buttons. who would of thought we can clinch the division this week. AMAZING

old pal bdemi, The past few weeks have been great. Even Leyland is managing better than in the past and given credit for. Sunday lineups are now 16 and 8 iirc. It would be a tremendous accomplishment to clinch in the next nine games on the road.
Leyland said if and when they do clinch, he is not shutting anyone down for much time off, said he didn't want anyone to go stale with too much rest.
This last road trip will be tough, 3 in chicago, 4 in oakland, 2 in kansas city. Maybe/hopefully they come back as the 2011 AL Central Champs, has a nice sound to it.

Indians opening it up on White Sox now, 7-2 going into the bottom of the 8th...6 White Sox outs away from a Magic Number of 7...

We are about to be 1 game behind the Red Sox too.

Want to finish ahead of them and troll the ESPN Red Sox board hard.....

Pretty crazy to think we have a chance to sweep the White Sox, Indians and Twins in consecutive series....and at the end of the year to boot.

If/when our Tigers win today, I hope that Dan Dickerson or the Tigers media and guide will post if it has ever happened before in the past 50 years since twins franchise started.

Did they ever mention anything about this happening before? I was focused on the Lions game today.

It's a great day. :) The magic number is down to 7. The Lions win. The only thing that would've made it better would be if the Bears had lost. I will take it though. :)

I didn't see anything, but just sent Dan Dickerson a message with that question. Hope he will respond.

Probably in the 30s when the Twins were the Senators!

I'm glad they won. Didn't watch because of the Lions so was Fister as dominate as his numbers show?

Yes. He was sawing off the Twins like a lumber factory.

I was thinking along those lines probably with the old washington senators,
"First in War, First in Peace, Last in the American League".
But as the suckass twins, this might be the most wins in a season series.
