meh...the BP is pretty taxed right now. The injuries to Boyd and Turnbull is the main reason for this.

Get StartedI honestly can't figure out where all the posters on this forum have went ??
The team is boring to watch. Exciting Brand if baseball my ass like they try and sell on Bally?s sports. I can?t stand to watch more then 2 or 3 innings of this baseball team. Not sure what the plan is from AA. Maybe if they could win more and get into the playoff hunt more posters will come back.
Idk I guess.
Do what I do, MLB Audio. Cheap and no Gibby.

I actually have enjoyed watching this team. I finally see some pieces that are actually talented.
Boyd, Turnbull, Mize, Skubal all look like legit mlb starters that flash all star at times. Manning hopefully takes a step next year. If that's our starting 5 next year thats exciting.
Another year of McCann/Haase is fine by me next year. They've been a strength for us this year.
Soto, Cisneros, Funk and Fulmer are the only pieces of the BP that deserve to be back, the rest aren't even good enough to send back down and keep in the system.
Badoo, Grossman and Short have been pleasant surprises. Candy has been solid once again.
Honestly a 50mil payroll bump would put this team in contention next year imo. Spend big(25 mil per year) for one of the stud ss free agents this year. 10 on another bat and the rest filling out the BP.
Id personally try to trade Schoop asap. Maybe try to bring a BP piece back for him. I'd replace the Castros with Paredes, Hill and Cameron when he's ready. Give those guys as many at bats as possible.

McCann/Haase combo?
I do agree with much of what you are saying.
The starting pitching has a nice core there.
Catching is good too. Haase is a great guy to have on the team given his versatility.
I would try to extend Schoop vs. trade him. He did hire Boras, so that is probably going to be difficult.
I'm probably in the minority, but I think they should go with Short at SS.
The bull pen is a mess. I like Cisnero, Soto, Funk, peralta, & Fulmer but that's it. They need some more depth.
2022
Starters: Mize, Skubal, Turnbull, Boyd, ??
Pen: Soto, Cisnero, Funk, Peralta, Fulmer, (need 4)
1B Miggy (terrible) Until Tork gets to town
2B Schoop or replacement
SS Short
3B Candy
RF Daz or replacement
CF Baddoo / Green coming
LF Grossman
C Rogers/Haase
This is probably not what most fans would want to do, but this is what I would do.
Sign a starting pitcher. A good #3 type that has had a history of an innings eater.
Really address the BP. Good quality guys...not 38 year old has beens.
Sign a corner outfielder. Not a star...a Grossman type player.
Maybe have to sign a second baseman.
Funny I can't believe I wrote McCann lol
Id still be ok with resigning Schoop for the right price, but you could still do that in the off season after trading him to a contender. Might even help your chances since you'd be doing him a solid letting him finish the year with a contender. Getting somethimg for him and letting Paredes get every day at bats at 2b is win/win imo
