Tigers vs. Twins July 28, 2021 Game 104 1:00 Start

Soto walks the first batter again and Boom, now it's 17 to 14,

This is the Lions and the vikings type score,

Just goes to show a 10 run lead is not safe. Glad they pulled this one out. Hopefully this score will be repeated when the Lions play in Minny in a few months cuz that would be funny.

Was that the Wolverines or the Spartans against the gophers?

I thought football didn?t start for over another month!

Tigers win a series at Target Field for the first time since July 21-23, 2017. They needed a 17-14 win today to do it.

Tigers are first AL/NL team since 1900 to hit no HRs, give up 7 HRs and win the game, according to Stathead.

The Tigers scored 17 runs today without hitting a home run.
This marks the first such game for Detroit since July 23, 1961 (G2), and is the seventh occurrence in the Major Leagues since the start of the 2000 season.

13- 10 for July.

One win against the Orioles at home secures third above .500 month in a row.

Not great.

Baby steps.

YOU MAKE THE CALL.
Totally Tigers

You Make the Call is the segment where readers must make a decision.

Every week we will identify an issue that is going on with the Tigers. And it?s an issue that must be resolved by A.J. Hinch.

Readers must choose one decision from the 2 or 3 offered as the one you feel is the best way to address the issue.

As always, we ask readers to take some time to comment and explain their rationale. Please remember to keep your comments to the 4-sentence maximum rule.
Let?s kick this off!

With the trade deadline approaching, what should A.J. recommend to Al Avila regarding Jonathan Schoop?
You make the call.

1. Consider offering him a contract.

2. Trade him.

Keep Schoop. While Tigers need better pitching, that will hopefully be in place next year. Keeping one of the reasons the Tigers score runs will result in more wins once pitching is fixed. Do not try to break what is working in the hopes of using the pieces to repair what is not...just go get the new parts to fix what is broken.

Keep Schoop. Tigers can?t be a team of under-control players and low-value retreads for ever. We likely realize that Boyd is gone, as is Norris and very likely Fulmer. IMO, I think, ironically, that Schoop is the best player to trade to get somewhat equal value in return.
