Tigers are fully capable of beating sale tomorrow victor was 0-5 tonight he'll be taking that out on sale tomorrow

Glad the kid ptroduced. We need some production from 3rd base again after losing Nick. I feel bad for Casey because That poor guy just had no luck at all with balls in play falling for hits.

Webvideo Tigers LIVE postgame 8.30.16: Jacoby Jones.
FoxDetroit

JaCoby Jones is the first Tiger with two hits and two RBIs in his MLB debut since Hank Riebe did so on Aug. 26, 1942, according to Baseball Reference. Riebe also earned 2 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star in WWII.

In the month of August, J.D. Martinez is 41-for-100 with 11 doubles, seven home runs and 14 runs batted in.

The four-RBI night for Kinsler was the most since he knocked in five against the Yankees on June 11. He previously had four RBIs total in his last 14 games.

JaCoby Jones: Aside from playing stellar defense at third base all night, he lined a sharp liner into right field in the sixth inning for a double. Which scored a run. And gave the Tigers their first lead of the night.

Ian Kinsler: Drove a two-run shot to left to put the Tigers on the board. He then planted a liner to left just inside the fair line for a two-run single.

J.D. Martinez: Started the sixth-inning rally with a double to left, but also doubled in the second and walked in the fourth. Oh, and he homered in the seventh.

Tigers bullpen: Bruce Rondon had a 1-2-3 inning with a strikeout, and Shane Greene recovered well after allowing a run on two hits to give Detroit two solid innings.

HISSES:

Daniel Norris: It was “only” three runs, but his command was erratic at best, and he had to fight to get through five innings.

Victor Martinez/Jose Iglesias: Combined, the two were 0-for-8 and they left eight men on-base.

STATS AND INFO:
The only Tigers starters not to reach base were Victor Martinez and Jose Iglesias. Four batters had multi-hit games, and J.D. Martinez had a three-hit day.

Ian Kinsler finished with four RBI on two hits for the night. It's the third time this season he's had at least four RBI on two hits, his last coming on June 11 when he drove in five against the Yankees.
It’s the 12th time he’s done so in his career.

Great win!!! With Sale tomorrow, it was huge to take these last 2 games.
4-2 home stand sounds good to me. 1 game back of the wild card, one good thing about that race is Baltimore and Boston play 7 times, you can gain on someone every night

Hasn't he played CF all year?

28 Games at 3B with 6 errors (averages to 35 errors in 162 games).

Most of those games were a result of McGehee getting called up and Toledo needing a 3B replacement. In 2014-2015, he primarily was a SS. It was late last year after being traded to DET that they had him play 3B in the Arizona Fall League. He played 8 games there, with 2 errors.

Jones is not a defensive player. Nor is/was Mike Aviles. He started as a SS and always was projected to play someplace else due to lack of defensive skills. He was put in CF due to his speed. He plays a decent, not great CF. His long term projection is utility/role player and his time in Toledo didn't change that projection in any way. If he was a CF of the future, they wouldn't have him trying other positions.
