Since 2009 JustinVerlander has 11 Monday starts with an insane 9.69 K/9 & 4.71 K/BB.
Yankees are 24-26 at Comerica since 2000. Only other AL park Yankees have losing record at: Angels Stadium 25-34.
Justin Verlander has been known the past two seasons as the pitcher to get the Tigers back to winning following a loss.
Tonight, he'll try to keep a four-game winning streak alive against the vaunted Yankees lineup.
Andy Dirks is back in the starting lineup at the No. 2 spot in left field. Quintin Berry takes the night off.
Infielder/outfielder Jeff Baker, who the Tigers acquired from the Cubs on Sunday, will be with the team tonight but not starting.

The Detroit Tigers returned home from an extremely tough road trip late last week.
Then they picked up right where they left off the last time they were at Comerica Park by sweeping the Cleveland Indians.
The Tigers open a four-game series with the New York Yankees today with their best starting pitcher on the mound and riding a streak of 14 victories in their past 15 games at home. That streak dates back to a July 4 victory over the Minnesota Twins.
The only loss the Tigers have suffered at home since then was a 13-0 drubbing at the hands of the Los Angeles Angels on July 17. They have won eight consecutive games at Comerica Park since that loss to the Angels.
Justin Verlander (11-7, 2.63 ERA) will start for the Tigers against right-hander Ivan Nova (10-5, 4.53).
Verlander is 4-4 with a 4.17 ERA in 12 career regular-season starts against the Yankees. He is 0-1 with a 5.11 ERA in two starts against the Yankees this season.
Current Yankees are hitting a combined .223 against Verlander (including the playoffs). Just two Yankees hitters are hitting better than .300 against him: Derek Jeter (14-for-40, two extra-base hits, one RBI) and Ichiro Suzuki (17-for-51, six RBIs).
Nick Swisher has three home runs and seven RBIs against Verlander. He also has a .193 and 21 strikeouts in 57 at-bats against the reigning American League MVP and Cy Young winner.
Nova has just two regular-season appearances (one start) against the Tigers. He is 0-0 with a 7.36 ERA against them. Including playoff numbers, three Tigers have averages higher than .300 (in limited at-bats) against Nova: Delmon Young (3-for-7, HR), Austin Jackson (3-for-8, two RBIs) and Prince Fielder (1-for-3, RBI).
Andy Dirks will start in left field and bat second against the right-hander. Brennan Boesch is hitting fifth and Omar Infante ninth.
