Get StartedI don't or care either way but sometimes managers/coaches and GM's get fired just because, a slow start usually. People have gotten fired for worse reasons. Nonetheless, I don't see Mike I. firing DD.
You have seen a manager fired after a month and a half of .500 baseball after a 95 win season?
We're not talking Ned Yost here.
Gardenhire is just as bad of an in game strategist as Leyland, if not worse.
Everyone bring up Gibson too, I'd love to hear the reasoning he's be better then Leyland other than he was everyone's childhood hero.
I mean i know he turned around a horrible team and surprised everyone by taking them to the playoffs and won manager of the year, hmm almost sounds familiar...like 2006 familiar....
Maybe because he's younger and has newer ideas? Its not the worse thing to have. Sometimes you want to get rid of the good 'ole boys..
lol!!!first off the idea of blaming dd is just stupid, and if you think he's the problem, so are you.
Dd put together a 100 win team, if the team's not playing up to spec how can you blame him?
And leyland, i get it you don't like him, i also get that as an ohio state fan you don't like to bathe, lets agree to disagree.
But leyland is not striking out or popping up with men on base, and leyland is not coming on in the 8th inning and forgetting how to throw a strike. I get that a manager has to take some of the blame when a team is under-preforming, but if gibson or francona, or gardenhire were the manager you think all of a sudden it would be all kittens and rainbows?
Seriously, the old shtick is getting stupid, blame the people who are playing like shit, have the balls to say prince and cabrera have not carried their load, and that out bullpen is pitching bad, and that delmon and boesch have no patience.
You're like a musician who plays 1 note only, and it's called fire leyland. It's a boring tune.

I don't know everything but I do know that if Joe Maddon was managing the Tigers right now, no freakin way they are under .500
