Get StartedTurbin. TSmith's boy.
book on Turbin is he will be better off in a zone blocking scheme where he can pick his holes....dont see him on the Lions radar.
Rd #1 Cordy Glenn, OG/OT, Replaces Goz or Peterman
Rd #2 Janoris Jenkins, CB, Slips into the 2nd for character concerns
Rd #3 Brock Osweiler, QB, 3rd string this year and is our future backup after Hill retires
Rd #4 Keenan Robinson, OLB, Pushes Levy at weakside and plays special teams
Rd #5 Vick Ballard, RB, Provides depth incase of injury
Rd #7 Frank Alexander, DE, Extra insurance on Avril, LoJack, KVB situation
Rd #7 Rokevious Watkins, OG, Keeps Peterman on his toes

Jenkins might not fall that far but stranger things have happenened in the draft. If he is still there in the 2nd, talent wise he will be BPA and the Lions need to take a chance at corner.
As far as QB in the third, I feel that landing a quality prospect with a strong arm could pay dividends in the future. If he developes into a quality backup or possible starter we can either keep him or use him as trade bait (similar to Matt Cassel or Matt Flynn). The QB position in the NFL has the most value and the chance of landing a quality prospect in the late rounds is extremly rare, therefore i don't believe spending a third is too high on a backup QB.
Guys on this board are willing to spend a first or second rd pick on DE (which i don't disagree with) on the chance Avril goes or KVB retires after the year, but spending a third on a QB who will be third string this year (we don't have third string QB on this roster) and replace Hill as the backup next year.
Lions dont have the depth to blow a 3rd on a QB who wont see the snaps or work one should to develop...just an opinion.
Matt Cassel and Flynn were both seventh rounders.
Um..
yeah i know but it could take that long for him to develop. When i think of a third string QB i like to see tremendous upside with a chance on becoming a starter or high quality backup.
A prospect that could have trade value. If you pick up a prospect like BJ Coleman late in the draft i don't see the potential of a player of Osweiler calibur. I picked Coleman because he is the guy i would pick if he was there in the 7th.
not that i care what New England does but they have Brady as a starter, Hoyer a decent backup and then they drafted Mallet which leaves Hoyer or Mallet as trade bait. it whould be nice if the Lions had 3 good QB's Stafford as the starter, Hill or Osweiler as trade bait next year.
