betcha in '03 they werent hitting mostly solo homers either. this is pathetic. DD built this team for home-run power...but we play in a ballpark that hurts homer power (but rewards gap power with tons of doubles). and we're not hitting many of either. we're a fucking station-to-station singles team. im not sure how much another hitting instructor is going to help.

...There’s no difference in philosophies.

“This is in no way, shape or form any disappointment in Lloyd. This is to get another body up here to help. Mac and Toby have a great rapport and won’t be getting in each other’s way.”

Translation....organizationally....we still want them to be first pitch swinging!

I know there are times they swing at a first pitch when the pitcher has been wild, inopportune times from the usual suspects, like DY. But you're a stats guy, I'm curious what the numbers are on 1st pitch swinging. Is it really as bad as we all think?

2 hitting instructors? Why keep Lloyd around? Oh, i know, he's Leylands best friend..lol.

This organization can be a joke at times...wtf.

I say bring in a dozen hitting instructors. Maybe one will figure out what's wrong with Boesch's swing or find out why DY blows.

We may need 20 instructors on that one.

Too bad there's nothing to "fix" with DY, what we're seeing out of him this season is what he really is and will always be.

I'm actually pretty sure nobody even taught him how to play the game. His first coach just handed him a bat and told him to go swing it.

Would make sense when you consider the lack of plate discipline, sliding technique, and general defense.

Instead of improving, Delmon has actually regressed as he has entered his prime. Pretty frustrating, especially now that Jim has decided he deserves to bat in possibly the most important spot in the lineup.

1st 4 season's for Anderson, game totals: 42, 37, 69, 62. That was not injuries. His walk total first 3 seasons: 6.3, 8.3, 5.4 all per 9 innings.

He was bad.

4.62 ERA and 1.49 WHIP for first 4 years. All before he got injured.
