The best dramatic depiction of a gangbanger funeral, in my humble opinion, was Six Feet Under, Season 1, Episode 4, Famiglia.

Haven't seen it and haven't had HBO for almost 5 years now. There was a gangbanger funeral in the movie Colors from the late 80s starring Robert Duval, Sean Penn, Don Cheadle, Damon Wayans and Gerardo. I rewatched it recently - that scene and the movie weren't as good as I remembered them being.

I believe the explanation given by Michael Eric Dyson is ?white supremacy by ventriloquist? and he has a PhD in this stuff. I read an article (written by someone who is probably also an expert because it got published) that explained how anti Asian hate crime committed predominantly by black people is due to white supremacy.

Also, it?s a bit presumptuous to assume minority gang bangers are dangerous - might want to check your privilege there. If they were dangerous I highly doubt DAs like Gascon and Boudin would be getting rid of cash bail and reducing sentences. This stuff is super complicated and highly nuanced and I?ve learned not to accept the obvious answer right away and instead look at these things through the lense of racism - when I do that, I often realize it?s all whitey?a fault.

This guy was shooting at a someone that just got done robbing him. The robber was running away. The robbery victim shot at the robber but killed a 9 year old girl instead.

I don?t think it should be lawful for a civilian to pursue and use lethal force against a fleeing suspect.

That should be reserved for law enforcement, and only then when the cops are white and the suspect is a black guy.

Hard to fathom this shooter didn?t notice a little girl in the line of fire against what should never been thought of as an existential threat - ?heard gunshots?? There?s only a 1 in 360 chance the guy is going to shoot in the right direction - which in this case, he did not.

Hard to fathom the grand jury declined to indict.

This guy needs to be giving lessons out. High stress situation. 40 yards away with a Glock. Took 10 shots and hit 8 of them.

That thing MC says never happens (the good guy with a gun thing) happened again. Bad guy with a gun shoots other bad guy with a gun during home invasion, homeowner picks up wounded bad guy's gun and shoots other bad guy dead. Somehow, the wounded bad guy made it out of the house and to the getaway car. If it wasn't so tragic, it would be funny.

6-year-old shot teacher at Newport News, Virginia, elementary school, police say

A 6-year-old student shot a teacher during an altercation at a Virginia elementary school on Friday, police said. No students were injured in the incident at Richneck Elementary School, Newport News police said in a statement.

"This was not an accidental shooting," Police Chief Steve Drew told reporters during an evening press conference.

The chief said the teacher, a woman in her 30s, suffered what he described as a life-threatening gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital.

The boy was taken into custody, the chief said. No one else was involved in the incident, he said.
