He had 1,421 hits, 453 extra base hits, and 92 home runs in away games.

Nine players taken by the Tigers in the 1976 draft reached the majors. Three are Hall of Famers (Jack Morris, Ozzie Smith, and Alan Trammell), while a fourth, Dan Petry, played 13 season and went 125-104 with a 3.95 ERA.
