At least half of what you describe is not happening due to something Donald Trump has done. Families are not being torn apart any more right this moment than they have been before. If you site anecdotal evidence from the Huffington Post, you lose most of your credibility with your espoused incredulity.
. . . and spending tax payers money? Show me a comparison for every politician that shows DT is wasting any more than the average president. Lying is wrong, wasting taxpayer money is wrong, using the executive power for political gains is wrong, but why the complete hysteria now? I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact you hate the man.
Give me a break, considering how most of that is specifically affecting me has nothing to do my Christian values. It isn't racist, it isn't overblown pomp, it is what is most important to me. Tell me that if there is some policy specifically affecting your family, that wouldn't be the highest thing on your list to do something about? This holier-than-thou elitist attitude that you know better what should be most important to me is complete crap.
Lastly, violating the constitution is pure conjecture and it only matters when something you care about is threatening to violate it. Things like the electoral college, illegal search and seizure as it applies to your enemies, etc should mean that the Constitution is a living breathing document so people like you can bend it to what they believe is the right thing to do. It is only wrong where something you don't like is concerned - damn if an enemy violates something in there - OMG it is a fucking nightmare.
It is fake outrage, and unbelievable hypocrisy that boils my blood.
Spare me your indignation at what I posted.
Deportations had been declining under Obama, and since 2013, ICE raids had been directed to focus on illegal immigrants involved in criminal activity.
raids have increased under Trump, and there is no focus on criminal activity; indeed accounts exist of them being general sweeps aimed at rounding up anyone here without a green card or visa. There's been a lot written about this, beyond the pages of the HuffPo. Just google "Trump + ICE + raids." Trump's press secretary, I think or Homeland security guy made the ominous comment that they wanted to "take the chains off ICE" implying they could raid and detain, without worrying about proving it in court. that's a police state; that's not America. at least not the America I want to live in.
as far as spending tax dollars... assuming he keeps spending weekends at his resort, and housing his wife in NYC so he has to spend as little time with her as possible (just like he did with his previous wives) he's easily on pace to blow way past what we spent on security for Obama very soon into his term.
link.
I doubt a guy like Trump is concerned about spending in this context... someone else (taxpayers) are on the hook for something he controls for his own benefit. this is a recipe for disaster.
and violating the emoluments clause of the Constitution is not speculation... he's done this and a number of lawsuits have been filed against him. so far, no
impeachment proceedings, but what do you expect when the GOP controls Congress and Trump has remained in near lockstep agreement with them?
every time he squeezes a foreign government to expedite a hotel or condo building with his name on it, everytime he hosts a diplomatic event at the Mar a lago, or has a foreign government hold a convention at his hotel in DC, he's violated the Constitution.
that happened. its not a debate, and its only "up for interpretation" if you can't understand English.
he could've avoided these ethical issues if he had sold his assets and put the funds in a blind trust, but he refused to do that because the finances of the Trump Organization are obviously more important to him than his job as President of the United States. priorities.
and for the record, I am totally calm. I don't have a "holier-than-thou" attitude. I'm an atheist. You're the one who brought his own religion into it, and claimed nothing Trump has done concerns his faith. That seems a little hypocritical to me.
