some people will dismiss it as hyperbole, but the comparisons to fascism start to make sense when you see them start to use violence to kick out dissenters or even just people who step 18 inches out of the box.

Trump's willingness to pander to the mob, including it's most racist and violent elements is why I'd rather see any other GOP candidate win the nomination.

it's ominous Trump has started getting endorsed... the real sociopaths out there are seeing the potential in a Trump administration, I think.

I received this in an email from a friend a couple of days ago.
However anyone feels about who wrote it, what side of the political fence, I just wanted to put it here and see what the rest of you think.

I don't like the devil I know but I like the one I don't know even less. The Experiment is over and it's taken 100 years for it to fail. Maybe it's time to start over.

there was an article (can't find it now) describing how Trump is following the playbook Pat Buchanan was handed in '96, but didn't have the fortitude (or maybe it's reckless, narcissism) to follow, and was marginalized because of that by Bob Dole and the GOP establishment.

it was written by a proto-Tea Partier that basically echoed the racist populism of candidates of decades past, kinda like George Wallace or even older nativist parties. it involved attacking the rich, free trade agreements, and saying the quiet parts about race and racism out loud. Trump has followed it to a T.

KC - I have a lot of thoughts on your post, but for now, the one thing that jumps out at me is the ridiculous notion that there is a "socialist cabal" or power on the left equal to the power structure on the Right.

if there is a socialist cabal out there, it's been doing a very poor job advancing its interests for decades. you can't argue with the trends in income taxation, wealth disparity, the dramatic fall in union membership (and political power), decline in middle class and lower class life expectancy. all those things undermine any argument that the Left is in the driver's seat or as Trump's email suggests, equally blameworthy for the plight of middle class Americans.

The left is definitely not equally blameworthy for the plight of the middle class - they easily get the lion's share of it.

yes we know. because food stamps, right? they made everybody lazy. people were just lining up tonget their food stamps and go eat lobster and steak instead of working.

and taxes. taxes are higher than ever.

and unions. we've all heard about how there's an autoworker in Flint who makes $35/hour and has a vacation cottage and a boat. so unions are bad.

and teachers' unions... boy oh boy. don't get me started.

these things are all FACTS and liberals can't argue with them...

here is an oldie but goody that summarizes my thoughts on the establishment ganging up on trump.

you're starting to catch on. According the liberal Brookings Institute, there are 3 things you need to do to not be poor in America - finish high school, get a job and keep it and don't have kids until you're married. Poverty rates among single parent households are multiples higher than homes with two parents regardless of race - but thanks to American welfare programs, single parent rates, particularly among minorities have skyrocketed. For example, among black Americans, single parent homes have gone from below 20% before welfare to nearly 70% today. Similar trends can be seen across races and it's the single best predicter of poverty in America.

These are the result of policies you support - and they affect minorities disproportionately, which is why it's so funny to hear you accuse other people of being racist. But the left relies heavily on the poor - they need a permanent class of poor people in order to stay in power. Conservatives have no use for a permanently poor people - economic mobility would only benefit conservative politicians. You grant poor people, minorities in particular, victim status (if they're victims, they're victims of racist scumbags like you) and you tell them it's rich peoples' fault and you will take care of them. Leftists villainize wealthy people and pit the poor they don't care about against them to win elections to further empower and often enrich themselves. It's really that simple.

And yes, unions, ridiculously high corporate taxes and excessive regulation have done just as much to destroy the middle class as welfare has to keep people from getting there. The high cost of labor and managing to often absurd regulations has driven jobs overseas - not CEOs paying themselves with the savings from labor - how many CEOs do you think there are anyway? It's not corporate greed, it's good stewardship of capital managing around policies and programs you support.

These are all FACTS and you don't have a good argument against them. So yeah, the left takes the lion's share of the blame you racist dumbass.

This type of thoughts should concern everyone.

Honestly, I almost can't blame Trump for having people kicked out. These protesters are getting way out of hand. It's true that Trump's people go too far and pull the trigger too quickly, but shit...when you can't go 5 minutes in your speech without morons shouting that black lives matter and calling him a racist, you have to be proactive.

It's not a free speech thing. Nobody's free speech is being violated. They have their right to speak, but as it is a private event, Trump's people have the right to remove them.

If the Tea Party protesters constantly interrupted Bernie Sanders' speech and shouted at him, calling him a communist and a zionist pig, i'm pretty sure there'd be no complaints from my fellow Liberals.

But that sort of very thing happened in 2008 and included overtly armed folks expressing their right to BEAR ARMS attending Obama events.

Exactly. They should be removed. Now, if the protesters are outside and on public property, they can't be touched. A speech in a private setting is not an open forum.

is there evidence of this? I'd love to see it but I can't find any. I've read an article about citizens open carrying outside a 2009 where Obama was speaking to veterans, but i don't ever recall hearing about it during any campaign events in 2008 - certainly never heard about armed people getting in and disrupting campaign events. The only interruptions of Dem campaign events I've heard or read about are happening now, in 2016 and it's mostly BLM people hitting both Shillary and the Bern, not conservative activists. Although, a US Marine did disrupt Bill "21 burners" Clinton at a Shillary event recently to ask him why his wife lied about Benghazi - he was probably a conservative, and he was removed by security.

I don't think the right to bear arms extends to anywhere within sight of Obama. Secret Service probably don't think so either.

Well the guy the other day who showed up in a t-shirt with KKK and a gold star of david on it never said a word (at least from the videos I have seen) it was the Trump morons who started booing him and yelling for him to GTFO that caused the disturbance.

All the while that was going on Trump mentioned how police are too slow to respond, saying something like "20 years ago that guy would have been arrested right away, and when I'm president it will happen again". and this is why Trump supporters are as stupid as he is. The guy broke no laws, so the police response is moot. Also, he seems to think the president does much more then what the constitution says, so now not only is Trump ging to make police respond faster, but he's going to make clerks in stores go back to saying "merry christmas" and not "happy holidays".

I'm saying that in 2008 there were many overt attempts to disrupt Obama events and typically it was clowns dressed as revolutionary minutemen and openly armed ...you know, strict Constitutionality and 2nd Amendment concerns ..

someone needs to explain how the First Amendment works to Donald Trump.
