Tyrann mathieu "it looks like they don't understand system yet"

Ever thought they're top defense because they played our anemic offense?

they did well in other games too. Denver and Seattle legit always have a good defense. You're on drugs if you think otherwise.

at Min and at SD sure helped those teams though. 28 on SD (21 offensively is a good day on the road).

Never said they didn't. But the teams we lost too none played like a powerhouse. We just can't score. 3 lousy points of offense.

Seattle and Denver are power house defenses. Min is 6th in PPG right now and that game was on road with Peterson going off controlling the clock.

21 at SD plus defensive score.

Injuries galore to Warford, Waddle and Pettigrew. And Waddle/Bell are not fully recovered from their injuries either. Neither was Warford when he did play.

Reiff forgot how to play the first 3 weeks in pass pro. Swanson is awful. Laken a rookie.

The season is a disappointment, but not totally unexpected, I saw a tough schedule that we would be lucky to win 7 or 8 games. So now I expect us to win 3-5 games.

What is totally disheartening is the realization of where we are as a franchise. We are a mess and there are no quick fixes. We have drafted almost zero defensive players who contribute, we rely almost exclusively on FAs for the defensive side of the ball. It means the turnover in the next couple years is going to devastate the defense and we'll be in full rebuild mode on that side of the ball.

Stafford is the other big issue, he's just never going to be a good QB who can get it done regularly. And we are committed to him financially. On top of that, the O line has been an issue for 35 years... Also, Calvin Johnson is on the downside, he's lost a step and no longer gets as wide open based on speed. He's still a top 10-20 receiver, but no longer the dominant force in the league.

Looking forward, we're basically screwed. The defense will lose a ton and there is hardly any young talent that is contributing. The offense has an aging super star, a mediocre QB, and still needs an O line.

Our needs in the 2016 draft are too many to list here, we are totally screwed personnel wise. And the coaching outlook is even worse. This is not a good coaching staff, a good coaching staff does not look this clueless without making adjustments like this staff.

The organization will be back to square 1 after this season, and there is no hope as long as Matt Millen's hand picked guys are still running things.

Swanson and Laken need to grow and get better. Period. Inexperienced and need to add muscle. Reiff and Warford are good though Reiff even with the terrible start this year (pass pro first 3 for Reiff). We need a right tackle if Waddle continues to play like this and get hurt all the time.

Plenty of weapons and Stafford is good. He needs average run support and protection though. 2.6 YPC and 39% pressure is terrible but this may be due to young players and injuries.

Defense they have Ansah, Slay as the building blocks. Levy and Quin have plenty of years left. Ihedigbo, Jones are good/solid but must be replaced next year. Could see them back on one or two year deals though.

Ngata is a good player for us so far. These injuries freaking suck thouhg. Of course he's healthy all the time with Ravens but gets hamstring and calf injuries early in Detroit (typical bullshit). He has 2 years left but they need to work out a deal there. Wright and Reid can grow into number 2 and 3 DT contributors. Both young.

LB Tulloch is done. 6 million in cap room when we cut him. That makes room for a good free agent. Whitehead and Bynes and Travis Lewis look like they can easily replace Tulloch though. Lewis and Whitehead are free agents though but should be cheap. We'll see how they finish the year.

We need a new power back with Bell's issues. We'll see what Zenner does too. Loving Abudullah despite the lack of blocking for him.

So really RT, LE, CB (Mathis though he rebounded after a bad Week 1) and ILB (maybe depending on Lewis/Whitehead). CB depends on Alex Carter too. Diggs and Lawson must grow at nickel back.

The Lions will have a good amount of cap room and have extra picks in the draft with the comp picks and trades made.
