Vs Tulsa

Run game and penalties kept this from being a 40+ pt win. This will be a 5 loss team if they can't figure out a run game.

Tulsa rb Corey Taylor said that he could put up 200 yards in the msu d. He's at -1 yards late in the 4th. That's hilarious

MSU offense as a whole will cost them 2-3 wins this year. This is a 10 or 11 win defense and a 5 or 6 win offense.

Its a .500-.600 team. We cant expect BL to lead us to glory. Run a draw, he gets creamed eventually. There were no expectations to begin with so I wont feel disappointed with 7-6.

passing game was worse. Lewerke has no confidence and no touch and the receivers cant get separation. i thought when they called the right run plays (up the middle) it actually worked - but i was watching at a bar and playing cricket and drinking a bit. i wonder if these coaches are capable of recognizing when something is working and why. if they are, they are certainly incapable of making in game adjustments. its like theyre just calling random plays w/o considering what the defense is showing them.

Willikes is a beast, so there's that.

I thought Lewerke looked ok. Tulsa was ranked 8th nationally last year against the pass so it's not like they were a trash pass defense.

looked to me like he had a lot of bad throws. also saw at least 3 terrible drops so there is plenty of blame to go around. the run game only sucked when they tried to go outside against a fast defense when hayward isnt a speed back.

and while there is blame to go around on the field, the offensive coaches and MD get the lion's share of it overall for that shit show.

I think offense can't help but be a bit better than last year's dumpster fire if only because I think it can't help but be healthier. But what I saw last night still won't be nearly good enough for the team to win anything significant. Biggest issue is the O-line still can't get a push at all.
