Can someone explain the clock situation at the end? I, like the announcers, thought UM couldn't stop the clock. Why did we need a first down... Why did the clock stop after third down?

Saw less than half the game (moved into a new house Thursday). Saw end of 1Q, all of 2nd, except the few plays that got us to the 6 before the 2nd TD and the first couple drives of the third. So basically I missed almost all the good offensive plays. The play calling was way too conservative - if they don’t trust Lombardi to not turn it over, are the rest of our QBs that bad that he’s the only option? Defense looked better for the most part but they looked lost on a lot of reverses and misdirection runs to the weak side.

I’m more convinced uofm is overrated than we are a better team than the one we saw against RU. A win is a win though and if I’m not mistaken, that’s twice MSU has beaten a ranked Harbaugh team vs 0 wins against a ranked MSU team for Jim.

Thanks. I agree, it was definitely a surprise. As I said above, sadly I think it’s more a case of uofm being exposed than it is an indication we are better than a team that can’t beat Rutgers at home. It’s probably a bit of both but more of the former than the latter.
