We have a top 5 defense

The Big10 is not great...there are a few good teams, a few above average and the rest is terrible. The SEC has a few "really good" teams, some good teams, some above average teams and only a few garbage teams. The Big10 has a bunch of garbage teams!
It's very annoying to see arkansas who is terrible almost beat Bama and Mississippi state and people just shrug their shoulders and say the SEC is so good that it's competitive all around.

The problem is the Big10 has 7 teams as bad as Arkansas.

just curious, do you think your offense is as good this year as it was last year?

I pretty much agree with what Tom said. Buckeyes offense this year lacks Braxton's explosiveness and Hyde's ability to run between the tackles. What they do have are more playmakers and the ability/willingness to spread things around. Maybe that gives Spartans D more things to worry about? All things considered, however, the edge goes to last year's offense if for no other reason than JT remains unproven in games such as the one upcoming.

the worst team in the big ten won on the road against an SEC team. I'm just pointing out the double standard here, top SEC teams almost lose to bottom feeders and they talk about the strength of the conference, MSU wins by 2 TD's against Purdue which is about that bad and everyone ask's what's wrong.

I don't know anybody who is asking what is wrong with MSU winning by 2TDs vs. Purdue except some people on message boards. As far as Indiana beating Mizzu..that was a good win but strange things happen in sports. That win doesn't change the fact that the SEC has about 5 or 6 teams really good teams and the Big10 only has 2 or 3 and the BIG10 has more shitty teams. That's not what we want but that is how it is now and how it has been for the past 10+ years....and it isn't going to change.

I'm not sure what to make of the SEC right now. Certainly the East is not good. The West seems pretty legit, but I still have a hard time believing Mississippi State is really that good and think they'll trip up at some point at least once.

But you see it all the time with them and the polls and it's getting ridiculous. Texas A&M blasts South Carolina the opening week and next thing you know the've climbed to #6 in the polls until they got exposed by the other teams in the west. Somehow South Carolina didn't drop out of the rankings after that week 1 debacle (at home), then eeked out a tight home win over Georgia and very quickly somehow got themselves back up to #12 before losing some more games and showing they were what everyone thought they were in the first place. You do see teams like Kentucky or Tennessee getting a ton of credit for playing teams tight every now and then. Nevermind that Tennessee lost to Oklahoma 34-10 out of conference.

Credit to them though. They've figured out how to work the system. Play some conference games right off the bat and the winner of those games gets an immediate bump in the rankings while the loser doesn't take much of a hit and it starts a cycle that perpetuates itself throughout the remainder of the season. Then in late November while other conferences are knocking each other off and taking on losses for which there is not enough time to recover in the rankings, they're busy playing FCS schools.

Any updates after the first half Johnny? 332 yards of total offense at least 4 plays over 25 yards and almost 10 yards per play...

There goes that top 5 defense

Funny thing is we will still prob end up with a top 5 or near top 5 defense and Johnny2x2x will say "look, we have a top 5 or 10 defense and we played OSU and Oregon" but will leave out the bit about those 2 offenses TORCHING our defense and then he'll add "our defense is elite"

Thus game makes it less likely that Narduzzi leaves
