What I'd like to see from Preseason Game 3

I know this is the "dress rehearsal" game so here are a few things I'd like to see.

1. CJ in street clothes. Yeah, that's right. He has NOTHING to prove and this offense, specifically Stafford, needs to learn to play without him. Being as one dimensional as they are is not a good thing.....I think 2012 proved that. Personally, I would have my top 4 WR be Burelson, Broyles, Edwards and Willis. With Bush, Petti and Scheffler.....a good QB should be able to move the ball.

2. Warford start. Run game was MUCH better in game 2 once he came in. Time to see what he can do against a good teams 1's.....like he'll see against the Pats.

3. Slay. Line him up against the Pats #2 and let him man up......see what he can do.

4. It's also time to see Greenwood actually play. Even I am tired of all the talk about his skill set and not see him on the fucking field. Time to shit or get off the pot Chris. Bentley is a good 4......Houston a good 1......it would be great to see Slay and Greenwood fill the 2 and 3......but playing Slay against 2nd and 3rd string WR and letting Greenwood fetch water won't help you find out what they can do.

5. Time for Linehan to open things up a bit. You don't have to go full regular season mode.....but these ridiculous attempts to get Edwards the ball are stupid. This isn't college Linehan......u can't just throw him a quick screen, run a slow....poorly designed reverse, or a quick slant and expect much production.

I expect a better performance. Personally, my patience is running out with this regime. Schwartz is becoming too much like LKP......everything is potential and bad luck......time to stand up, stop the excuses and play like he says they can.

1. Couldn't agree more, both to protect CJ and to see what the offense can do in his absence.
2. 3. Both need to play, Gandy/Bartell are below average starters, if these guys are the future let them make their mistakes on the field because the future is now.
4. No hope for Greenwood, but hey no one has seen him play. Not much hope for Bentley either, he looked good in camp as a nickel going against our scrubs, match him up against Randal Cobb and he's toast.
5. Agree wholeheartedly if that is even possible. I think Linehan thinks he's already opened it up.

Darius Slay - DB - Lions
Second-round pick Darius Slay has emerged as the favorite to be the Lions' Opening Day starter at right cornerback.
The 36th overall pick in April's draft has predictably bypassed Ronald Bartell. "He's getting some good reps, but that's because of his play in the preseason games," coach Jim Schwartz said. "His reward is the opportunity to do more." The Lions are high on Slay's ability to play press-man coverage and run with receivers. Chris Houston returns as Detroit's starting left corner

Glad schwartz is making the right move in Slay. bartell might be cut now?...without looking at how much he costs youd have to think he slides below houston, slay, bentley and if mathis can still play football then bartell becomes the 5th corner?

Hopefully Mathis stayed in football shape and can play over bentley. A 100% mathis is leaps n bounds better than bentley and can step right in as the #3 which means we should only see bentley in on nickel situations.

Lastly, stop talking about greenwood....hes trash. If you guys seriously expect anything from him....dont.

Ok, big guy. Let me know if/when I can talk about him again.

No more blown safety coverages, drops, personal fouls and missed tackles. That is what I want to see.

Burleson/Broyles/Scheffler to make some catches.

Some DE pressure from Ansah/Jones/Idonije.

I want to see healthy bodies WALKING off the field. Lets get the fn season started...

How do you know he's trash? Oh ya, you didnt like the draft pick.....

"I wouldn't classify it as first-team reps," Schwartz said. "We did a lot of different periods in practice today, let's put it that way. But he's back on the field. He's still probably not 100 percent, but he's close.

infected bellybutton ring still not 100%....and even Schwartz wont call them first team reps.

I do hope be plays vs Pats and does well. Just sayin I'd rather he do well than not and if Houston is able to rest more because Greenwood gets reps with 1st string I have no issue with that either. Will he get burned, probably, but he might make a play or two. He literally cannot do worse than what others have been doing so far, just hope he doesn't do the same as they have been.

He was filling in for Chris Houston. I doubt Houston takes many 2nd or 3rd team reps in camp.

Either you believe Schwartz on the fact he really wasn't taking 1st string snaps or Schwartz doesn't know jack, which I'm starting to believe more and more.

id like to see our 5th round punter actually be able to kick the ball more than 30 yds in the air.
